Hi guys,
I have two younglings here that have gotten a tad sick over the past few days.
Here is plant number one. I'm pretty sure this is nute burn but a second opinion is always good, especially for the less experienced:
Here is plant number 2 - this one I'm not too certain what it is:
Quote:
Hydro Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seed. 2. How old are your plants? 3-4 Weeks 3. How tall are your plants? 10 or so cm. 4. What type of hydro system are you using? Hempy Buckets. 5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? Advanced Hydroponics of Holland Dutch Formula 3-Part 6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 5.5-5.7 7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? EC is about 0.6-0.7 8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? 1.5EC I believe. Not 100%, I have to check on that. 9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? It's probably around 18-23 C. That's what the room temperature range is usually. 10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? N/A 11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? A rise. I don't think this has anything to do with it though. Click Link for more info. 12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No. 13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? MH 400Watt. 14. How close are your lights to the plants? 40-50Cm 15. What size is your grow space in square feet? 2x2 16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 25-30% Humidity. Temperature range is from 18-26 Celsius. It only drops low during the middle of the night and early morning. For most of the day and the evening it hangs around 24-26C. 17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? Yes. Spiders. So that should not be an issue. 18. How much experience do you have growing? I have successfully completed 1 grow.

Looks like it could be the beginnings of it. I don't use an EC meter and don't really know what the relation of it to PPM is. Flush and go lower on the nutes would be my suspicious.

According to that chart, I guess my tap water PPM would be around 460.
Nute solution about 645. <-I'm going to check on this now.

Can you afford to get a RO system. That's a pretty high starting PPM.

I know it is. Fucking Germans and their rusty pipes.
Yes I can afford one, the issue is I'm moving to the states in a couple of months so I'd rather not spend the money atm. Though, what I've been thinking of doing is buying one of those pitchers with a filter, and topping off my water supply tank here:
Something interesting I discovered was that, after a week of circulating through my GH biofiltre, the water in my tank has dropped from 0.7 EC to 0.5 EC. So I figured I would actually get very good results if I used a water filter/pitcher in addition to this.
--EDIT--
I flushed the plants really well with half strength solution. The cups the plants sit in are 200ml and I poured a little over 600ml of solution into each cup. Run off PH was perfect.
Hopefully tomorrow things will have improved a bit.

Well the damage that you see is not going to repair itself. It will take a few days to get back to vigorous growth though. I'd say if you have the money for a RO system, get it, then just bring it with you to the states. There's no guarantee that the water where you move to in the states is going to be any better.

Yeah I know.
I'll start looking into ROs. I've been a huge advocate of them ever since I read the PH manifesto. If I find one for under 100€, I'll probably buy it. Though some of these water filter pitchers apparently get really, really close to 0PPM. I think I'm going to buy the water filter pitcher thing first, and test the PPM of the output water to see how much of a difference it makes. If the difference is considerable I think I'll just stick to the pitcher for the remainder of this grow. If it doesn't do too much I'll invest in the RO.

btw if those plants are in solo cups they're probably pretty close to needing a transplant. Might want to consider doing that soon as well.
