Dephect is going as far as i know.  There's another thread here about it, but it's called bernal equinox or some shit.  I will go someday, but not this year.  It's up there with attending the cannabis cup on things to do that will require a bit of preparation.  Have fun!  Take pictures if you can manage to keep your camera in working order for the whole trip.

I've got a good friend who lives for Burning Man, he starts preparing about a month after it's over for the following year. The way he describes it is "expect nothing, it's nothing like anything you could possibly imagine." He can talk about it for hours, and every single person I know who's gone is the same way and can't wait to go again. It's a lifestyle they can live one week out of the year where ANYTHING goes.

I'm close enough to the Black Rock where I get to see all of the people heading home after the week is over, everything is completely covered in white chalky playa dust, there's no question where those cars come from. It's cool to check out some of the art and art cars that come through town after.

I'm thinking of going next year, it looks like a ton of fun and definitely a place where my way of life fits in. During the event it's the third largest city in Nevada with around 50,000 attendees, that's fucking crazy. People go ALL out for it, it's like the world's biggest art gallery, check out some of the pictures on the Burning Man website.

Have a good time, enjoy your week away from the world as we know it.

I've never been to any real "festival"...I can't stand hippies for the most part. I know thats mean to say...but IDK.

I like hippie music even...I go to concerts, etc...but multiple days AND camping? IDK if I could take it. :ifyoucanawe:

The promise of lots of good drugs almost makes me want to though. IDK. Maybe once I'm old enough to buy mass amounts of alcohol. Alcohol makes everything tolerable.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Burning Man would totally be worth it if you had that kind of expendable income.

Honestly if that type of therapy was more readily available I think it could revolutionize that field and help sooo many people. If MAPS keeps going at the pace they have been for the past couple years that could be a possibility one day. I think initially though it would be pretty difficult to become a subject they'd probably have a rigorous screen process but one day after people saw the amazing results and long term results from early patients it would loosen/

This thread just convinced me to start savin up to go to burning man next year, especially after researching it.

LSD therapy used to be much much more common.

Yea I know, but it was pretty much all put to a stop by 1970-71. Psychology itself has evolved since then so I can only imagine what that plus modern technology could do for it along with a better understanding of psychedelics. Sooo much potential.

It seems that the people who lived way before use were much smarter and we better building things, such as pyramids, especially since it was all hand made. Back then they used mushrooms spirituatialy and religiously. Now we're sheep and dumbed down.
