Starting flowering.
    #412429 - 05/05/10 11:02 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Alright so my two little baby plants are like 9 days away from being two months old, they each have five man tops (due to LST) and are doing very very healthy.

I was wondering if it would be a good time to throw them into flowering? I am going to be transplanting them from ??? size pots to five gallon buckets. I have them under two 55w 2700k bulbs, and three 26w 6500k bulbs. Planning on getting two more 55w, or if I can find better for the same or cheaper then I will go with those.

Also, going to buy open sesame, big bloom, tiger bloom, cha-ching and that other one by FF next friday when I get paid. Wont start flowing until I get those.

Heres a picture of both plants, you cant really see the one on the bottom too well but oh well.

Let me know if it would be a good or bad decision to flower them soon. (Next saturday)

depends on your height restrictions in your flowering cab, the longer you let them veg, the bigger they'll be in flower.  They look good enough to bud IMO.

I have like 8 feet of height in my closet. So I don't really have too much height restrictions...I am just getting antsy and I need to start supplementing my paychecks a little if you know what I mean.

I'm going to Wakarusa in June and that is sapping MAJOR fundage from me, im relying on these baby's to get me through the summer in terms of entertainment, concerts, vacation etc.

Thank you for the advice! I am going to come back from waka and throw them into flower most likely.

If your wanting to do this for yield your going to want to invest in better lighting than CFL's man.  Or do you mean this is being your supply of smoke for the summer??    If your wanting bigger yield let them go a little longer and then add more light before you go into flowering.

I'm planning on getting two of those really big.150w floro grow lights from. the local hydro store. When I flower them they will have upwards of 500 total watts surrounding them. I could probably afford an ups setup but I kind of want to see what I can do with the floros this time  around

I would recommend getting a 150w HPS instead man. But if you want to see what you get then go for it!

All you have to say is STS9 and Slightly Stoopid  I wish I could go. Too bad I always have my money invested in Burning Man.

Hey nice start. General rule of thumb is that the plant doubles in height by the end of flower, but it depends entirely on the strain. A SCROG is almost a necessity if you intend on using CFL's through flower. You'll also want to build or buy a reflector to maximize the efficiency of any CFL. Like the other poster said, HPS is definitely the way to go because of the spectrum of light it puts of. Check my other posts under "cheap hps" for the cheapest light kits. If you decide to go with an HPS, make sure you do it right and get a digital ballast.

On a side note.. probably not the best idea to talk about selling weed at gigs on a public forum, especially while growing weed. :facepalm3: In other words, don't break the law, when you're breaking the law.
