Nanooks Indoor Soil 1400w HPS/CFL Igloo *COMPLETE*

I figured I should stop lurking and post a record of what is happening in my (not so) frozen tundra.
Just got the bud room completed (mostly anyways) 4x8 ft 2x 400w HPS 1x 600w HPS Soil - Foxfarm Happy Frog Hesi and Foxfarm nutes
all plants are here on 24/0 atm while I clean and finish off the...
veg room 2.5x4.5 ft 2x~210w CFL arrays FF Happyfrog FF Grow Big w/ Big Bud + Superthirve in DH2O or Hesi TNT Soil Complex + SuperVit in tap (no pH adjustment needed with this)
I will start 12/12 when I get the veg room done. It needs a door, ventilation and shit... cleaning. It should be up by the end of the weekend. I will start taking more clones tomorrow. I'm still feeding veg nutes btw.
ATM I'm running only 800w due to heat. I have a 275cfm blower exhausting the room (4" duct) to the outside with home made dryer sheet air fresheners near the intake of the fan (they're doing the job quite nicely atm but i will be ordering a bucket of carbon or a pre-made filter soon).
Then there is 2 computer fans on an intake vent pulling cool air in at maybe 100-150cfm and a box fan at the end of the room with the vent pushing towards the plants and the exhaust on the opposite side.
This keeps it at 80-85f running 800w. If I go up to 1400w atm my temps go up near 100. I have an inline fan (blades, not impeller(is that right?)) I need to get new blades for but it spins at least 1000rpm so that has to be useful. Any suggestions on ventilation? HTG supply has cheap inline fans, the 8" pushes a lot, how loud are those things?
STRAINS!!!! lets not forget those.
Diesel from G13 Labs White Widow from Dynafem Blue Widow from Dynafem Blueberry of unknown origin 2 unknown, possibly purple, strains 2 bagseeds from some of the better mids around here of last year 6 bagseed from another batch of good mids (all confirmed female except this group of 6) (bagseed plans to be put outside btw) I also have a viable seed from some purple nurple, I'll give that a go for shits and giggles.
**pics will be up soon, I promise**

Glad to see you doing some wattage! I feel like we see a lot of floro grows on here....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Soon to be veg room, needs door. I'm putting my aero-cloner together, that will be next to mommies and clones
Welcome to my humble abode!
The View to your right...
and to your left (well, i guess it's right in front of you) Most of these I just transplanted last night. I'm hoping that will take care of the burning/deficiency. I need to get an oscillating fan in there, that box fan pushes the ones in front a bit much.
Smaller group of 6 and 2 larger ones in front are the mids
A nice Blueberry bush
unknown 1 (the 4th pic has 8 more clones of these)
Stalk on the right is unknown 2
Diesel 1
Diesel 2 top
2 nice Blue Widow bushes
and the White Widow

That looks like nutrient burn to me. How much in the way of ml's per gallon are they getting of the nutrient solution?? Are you monitoring pH?

they have all been getting the same until transplant: 15-18ml per gallon, the bottle says 50ml per 10L. now they are all getting plain water. When using the HESI nutes in tap water the pH is always 7. I haven't tested any runoff though.
It seems the unknown strain (the 8 clones, some with burning) can't handle as many nutes as the other strains or there was just salt buildup. Either way they got transplanted so that should help.
I'll have to dial it back and see what happens when I start feeding again.
ALSO I have to spray for spider mites. They showed up a month ago and I got some Azamax. It worked great, you're supposed to apply it 3 times over 30 days. I got lazy and only did it twice. Now there are very few, seemingly deformed, mites showing back up. This time they're not nearly as aggressive, there aren't any webs or anything. I figure 2 or 3 more applications and they will be gone.

Brand new Can Fan - 8" High Output 737cfm
That should do it nicely
This puppy if fucking awesome! It sounds like a jet engine when it starts up. I need to get a speed controller and they were out of them at the grow store when I went. Now I just need to figure out how to mount this.....
I also picked up a 50lb bale of
Sun Gro® Sunshine® Mix #4 Aggregate Plus Professional Growing Mix
I think this will work the best for me because I'll be using mineral based ferts with tap water so I don't want anything with organics in it.
Now I just have to finish my cloner and take cuttings then I can transplant the biggest six plants and start 12/12 after maybe a week? How long should I wait after transplanting to 5gal pots to start 12/12?

Clones!
So here is my cheap ass aeroponic clone box, sitting under 150-175w CFL
Made with a rubbermade tube that opens with a hinge. Inside we have 3x 6" air stones in about 2/3gal dH2O with ~2tsp H2O2 and ~10ml superthrive. pH was brought up to 6.5-7
PUMPS ON!
After about 5min this is what we want to see on the underside of the top
After taking cuttings they were placed in tap water ~room temp
Before placing into the cloner
Trimming to the proper height. The water level is about even with the line in the middle of the tub
In the box she goes
She sits in a piece of foam, the same kind I lined my room with, with a little foam boulder holder her steady
Trim the fat off
Three little White Widows. 2 of them are from the same branch, I want to see how they root
Fill the bitch up!
Check under the hood
Step back
And rejoice

So I just went full power last night and turned on the 600w after hooking up the fan and new duct. The Can fan replaced a Dayton 265cfm blower that will replace the two CPU fans on my intake.
Goodbye!
Temps before Can fan: 88-92F
Temps after Can fan: 86-88F but they have been rising, it's been cold here for this time of year and is getting warmer And that's with an extra 600w of lights.
I'm hoping that by making the blower an intake fan I will be able to lower the speed of the Can fan and reduce some of the noise but also make it cooler? There's a lot of noise btw, in my room (which has the igloo on one side and the duct running across the ceiling to the window) it sounds like there are two fans. One in the igloo and one at the window where the duct reduces from 6" to 4". I plan on replacing the reduction with an expansion to fit the whole window pane thereby opening the exit and reducing the noise. I also might order a duct muffler, I understand that would lower the noise outside?
I want air cooled reflectors but all the ones I've seen were at least $85 x 3 lights = $255. How much do you guys think that would lower the temps?
The plants are loving the extra light though I decided I'm going to transplant the 10 plants I have in 1gal pots to 5gal pots and remove the extra plants. Some will go outside and some will go in the veg closet to be either the next round or mommies for the rounds to come... we'll see.
I'm using some temporary nutrients atm, I ran out of the HESI TNT veg nutes and the only place around me that sells it is a bit out of the way with shitty hours.
So I'm using Vigoro 10-10-10 liquid plant food I got last year from the Home de Pot. I mixed at a little less than 1/4 cap-full which is ~1.5-2tsp in 2.5 gal of tap water with about 10-15ml of Superthrive, pH adjusted to 5.5-6. This will soon be going to all the plants in veg until I get more HESI. After I transplant they will be getting the HESI bloom complex and after 4 weeks the Phosphor Plus will be added. I'm still not sure if I should do 2 or 3... or even 4 week cycles
*more pics to come*

What exactly do you mean? They look pretty large for rooting but as Magash says, if it's green he can root it, so I think it's fine.

I dident say they were bad or anything, I was just saying they seem be larger than the average clone cutting.

That's all I was saying. I just heard smaller cuttings root better and faster, because of the softer stem. Chill duuude smoke a bowl, I'll see you soon for more plantation work.

Small update here, pics will follow tomorrow or the next day. I've been working shit-tons and haven't had as much time as I would have liked to spend with the plants. But that's changing though, so I will be getting more and more time to work with them as we get rolling here.
As a result, the clones suffered (3 survived and are now in dirt, growing nicely), but everything else is going fine.
The spider mites were still giving me trouble about a week and a half ago, i've sprayed with Azamax 2 times with that and plan to do it again this weekend. If you have to do this with more than a few plants or just a few large ones, INVEST IN A PUMP SPRAYER!(I got the 1gal one) Best $20 I've spent so far (this month). With all the plants to spray it was taking me over 2.5 hrs to move and thoroughly spray them with a trigger sprayer, i was getting cramps and blisters, refilling it every 20min, not so fun. With the pump sprayer, it holds 4 times as much, takes 30sec to pump up and you're good for 10-15min of spraying before needing to pump again.
Since 6/2 there have been 9 plants flowering under the full 1400w HPS, 3 Diesel, 2 Blue Widow, 1 Blueberry, 1 White Widow and 1 each of the 2 unknown strains. 2 weeks in and there are tons of hairs all over the place. I'm still bending these, but they have hit the walls and are falling on each other so there's not much room to go out, but we can go another 1.5-2ft up so there are still lots of room for more bud.
We also have 14, I think, plants under a 125w cfl that will be going outside tomorrow I'm going to build a small green house (8x8 I think) for them on some secure property, plus this is a legal medical grow so that offers protection from the man.
Expect more ramblings and pics very soon.

PICS
Clones: The labels on a few of them got smeared off so they are a mystery.
These are all from unknown commercial grade bagseed, going outside soon.
Here are all the vegging plants that were under the hps, there is WW, BW, U1, and 6 Unknown Bagseed confirmed female. These will also be going outside.
And here we have Day 15 of flower, first a map of the garden, note the BW in both pics for orientation:
Diesel to the left, 3 plants of different seed from the same feminized pack. These were just turned around so the leaves facing us have yet to reorient themselves to the new light angles.
The BW in the center, under the 600w'er.
To the right, U1 in the back and WW in the front.

Here we go folks! It's about day 28 into bud here at the igloo, temps have been good, 81.5 to 86.5 F at day, 76ish at night. I will be starting soon with the HESI Phosphorus Plus at 20ml per 2 gal. The buds are getting bigger, thicker, frostier and stankier every day!
I have pics from day 25 and day 28 here, and honestly, most of them suck. My camera broke and the zoom lens is stuck out so I had to stand about 8ft away to get these pics, and it's hard to focus now. I should be getting a new one by the next update.
