i looked all over the web for "bolting marijuana, weed, cannibis, ect...." and i found very little to nothing at all. what is bolting weed, what do it look like, what are the causes, or is this just another myth...................the reason i ask is because i grow lettuce and when lettuce bolts, it s gone to seed and that is done, however i have had weed start putting out lots and lots of new growth at 9 or even 10 wks flrng. but i don t know if this is just a longer flowering genetic or whatever...................any thoughts people?

Cannabis flowers based purely on the light cycle, only autoflowering plants "bolt" so to speak.

this was on my mind just recently because I have been experiencing it with my bubblejack plants that are getting close to 60 days.
a week ago the apical tips on this heavily branched plant all began new green almost leafy growth and a new phase of stretch that I did not see as a good thing. I'm flowering in DWC buckets under t5's with a very thin canopy the same L&W as the light.. I want my buds to be firm!
so I pinchered the fresh offending tips to stop whatever hormone was being produced to cause my pretty little buds to get fluffy. so far it has been about 5 days and the results have been great.
a friend who knows this strain better than I told me she loves the carbs, so I dosed with molasses the same few days I was doing the pinching, resulting in a huge burst of new white hairs in less than 24hours.
what I have now is about 5 calyx hairs sprouting from the center of each mature calyx, now getting very swolen to hold all the other buds inside.
I did keep a few tips un-cut to observe. it's nothing too major so far, thought I'm much more pleased to have that same veging type growth down on side branches where it does less visual damage and will help with all this new growth.
I just bought this camera a week ago so I could start doing a growlog start to finish on the setup I'm doing next and the conclusion for this garden.
