Planted my garden 2 weeks ago and had nothing but gorgeous weather since then, all my plants are nice and healthy, bushy, strong.... and tonight it's supposed to snow 6 inches 
Outdoor gardening here fucking sucks. I've seen it snow in July for christsakes, how the hell are you supposed to plan around last frost?

Yeah its a pain in the ass, the weather here is pretty crumby for growing a lot of fruits and veggies. I could grow cabbage all year long, but I'd be lucky to get a tomato before November comes. A greenhouse is the only way to have an efficient garden here.

I just don't have $400 to throw down on even the crappiest of greenhouses, let alone the $1,000 for a nice one. I would fucking love to get a greenhouse so I could grow some nice outdoor nugs this year, but I just don't see it in the financial cards for this afternoon.
Maybe I'll just go get some stakes to hold it off the ground and throw a blanket over them. I think if I do the stakes right I can prevent them from getting crushed

Survival of the fittest I suppose. But really you can't plan for 6 inches of snow in the spring. I'd probably wait till at least middle of May to try to grow anything at your elevation.
It only snows or frosts on the years that you decide to try it early

Dude I know kind of what you mean. Not to that degree. But it's been nice as shit in the southeastern part of Virginia for like a month, and then we just had a spell of weather that was cold as fuck outta nowhere. I'm tellin you man, if you look at weather almanacs n shit from way back, the weather patterns weren't like this. It's global warming and pollution

Harry, got any 5 gallon buckets? OR a roll of clear plastic?
Back in michigan, we would cover the young plants with buckets at night in a case like yours.
Or you can construct a basic green house with the roll of plastic and a few 2x2 boards.
Made a fair share of plastic green houses.

I have tons of 5 gallon buckets, here they are 
I can definitely do the sheet thing though, I've got 2x4's and I've got some of that white covering that's supposed to protect against frost. I'll just make a nice low-lying greenhouse and hope that keeps them warm enough...

Shit man. That sucks. Live and learn tho. Some 2×4's,strapping and a roll or two of poly could be a quick and simple temp greenhouse for you. Dunno how big your garden is though. Out here in maine I don't put shit out till the first full moon after memorial day weekend. We always get a full moon/frost memorial day weekend. Shits like clockwork out here. (Though peas/lettuce and a few others can handle a frost. So those fuckers go out beg of may. I dunno about a snowfall though! Never had that happen..but I'm not near any mtns.
I just picked up my seedlings, potatoes and onions today. Seedlings are under some flo's as we speak. They're gonna have a great jump start!
