Beautiful tear-jerking art.
-------------------- "She quickly stood up & looked down, the door on her shoe had gotten larger. Her shoelaces then quickly took hold of her hands, which caused her to sneeze. She spit on the puddle of liquid rice to her left, hoping it would release the toads from their chains. It did nothing. Desperately she bit into her arm-chair, hoping, praying the bird will hear her call. "Get the lock!" Sponny yelled. But was too late. The door had opened. She quickly grabbed her shoe & threw it, spilling & exposing the contents inside & relaseing those things."

Nice photo Furrow!
I can't believe you got to see the original in person. That's awesome! Did you get to meet Alex Gray too?
And I would like to know this too....

Luckily, you didn't say that at the shroomery. Have you heard of Pihkal or Tihkal? Those were both books by the Shulgins. I did not meet sasha or ann. Although I probably could have if i had been a bit more persistent. He looked to be in frail health so I didn't really approach him or anything. I did sit in a discussion group with him though. That was cool as fuck. Just a bunch of young kids sitting around a table outside asking him questions, rapid fire. He's still sharp as a tack. I got pictures of that that I will share later. Dr. Shulgin had a DEA license to produce psychoactive substances. He did that for many years. When he made a new compound in the tryptamine or phenethylamines family he would ingest it to determine it's psychoactive properties. To me there is no better example of a psychonaut. He and his wife, ann, have got some real fucking courage. Here are a couple of pictures I took after the shulgin dinner. I ran up on the stage after it concluded.
Here's the official picture from the alex grey website....

Well of course I've heard of them and their books, but I don't recognize him by sight. Names and faces don't have a correlation if you haven't ever seen his face before

Oh good. I was wondering how you could have not known who they are. I'm glad i misunderstood you. Here's the picture it was based off of, which is one of my favorite pictures eva. There's something about it that exudes love and warmth.
