Subutex and suboxone as someone already pointed out are different. Subutex doesn't have the opiate blocker and if you have little or no opiate tolerance it'll get you high as fuck.
2mg of subutex IV will get me nodding for about 8 to 10 hours.

If someone hadn't taken any form of opiates in over a month,
would 4mg subutex do the job, taken orally of course?
And if it does, would they be able to take the other 4mg
the next day and get a good opiate buzz?

If you'd been clean for a month then 1 or 2 mg either under the tongue or snorted would get you high. An 8mg tab would keep you high for 24~36 hours.

For about five months of last year I was getting 8mg tabs on a weekly basis. I love the stuff, it's great stuff if you have little or no tolerance.
