well, i'd like to start flowering...
    #400399 - 04/12/10 10:06 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

i've got this little lady, Ms. Pepette le Pew...

she looks a little sad here because she was thirsty, but she's a skunk 1 and getting bigger everyday.  i'd like to initiate the flower cycle.  Now... when i go about doing this should i shock it with the 24 hours of dark then start the 12/12.  also, my timing is set at 6am to 12am right now for veg.  i would like my flower schedule to be 8-8 due to the fact that i may be done working after 6 sometimes and if i want to check up and do regular maintenance, well, i wouldn't really be able to.  suggestions please?

I never do a 24 hour dark period.  Just throw it into 12/12 and st it for any time span that you want.  It wont hurt any if the first day or so is a little longer on one end of the scale or the other.

First off, why do you wanna do a 24-hour dark period?

Secondly, why do you have a 6am to 12pm (6 hour) light period?

Thirdly, why do you want a 8-hour On and 8-hour Off lighting pattern?

It shouldn't matter if you work during the light period or not: that's what the light timers are for. And if its because of the watering thing (i.e. it drys out too fast), well, you can soak the soil before you leave for work, and when you return home, it should be still moist.

Or is it because of your complicated work schedule doesn't align with the flowering period?

I'm really confused...

I think he meant 6am-12am, and 8am-8pm for flowering because he doesn't get off work until 6pm most of the time.

To the OP, you may want to consider doing a 8pm-8am light on period because summer is approaching and it may get pretty warm during the day with the lights on. That would also give you plenty of time during lights on to do anything you need to.

Oh, I think I see. So, the 6am to 12pm is for vegging, and the 8am to 8pm is for flowering...or are they both for flowering...

I guess I'm still Lost.

6 in the morning until midnight would be 18 hours for vegging, 8am-8pm would be 12 hours for flowering.
I guess that is what the guy is doing anyway.

OK, Now I get it! Thanks Amensiac!

I thought it was 6am to 12pm or Noon. Now it makes more sense as mid-night. That's my bad....I wish we all used Military time sometimes....

And the 8am to 8pm....that makes sense too. For some reason, I keep thinking you can only do it at 6am to 6pm, because of the addition, but it doesn't matter, because its all just Am and Pm anyway....

Thanks for clearing it up Amn....

So, I think that's a good schedule...as long as his stealthiness is strong enough, he shouldn't have a problem having lights on that late (i.e. past anything 7pm). Plants don't care if its night or day when the lights are on, unless you don't stealth and have open windows, then it might confuse the plant....

Its all good, I think.
