Week 8 of Flowering - Day 2 [Re: Triptonic]

Thanks everyone for all the comments!
It's starting to look like the Red Dragon plants may need more than the projected 10 weeks to finish completely - we'll see how they look come April 9th or so.
The plan is to chop the bagseed plant and possibly the Dreamtime plant next weekend, as they will get a decent flushing tomorrow evening to begin their home-stretch. If the Dreamtime plant looks like it could use more time to finish, it may get pushed ahead to the end of week 10...

End of Week 8 of Flowering [Re: Dayzt]

So week 8 has now come to an end, and the two plants (bagseed (Mercy) and Dreamtime (Nails)) are still on schedule to come down this next weekend. Those two rec'd their last good flushing this past Thursday and are now on their last week without any water/food so they can dry out a bit before cutting time. (Friday or Saturday evening).
The dragons are all still givin'er - the topped plant is finally starting to fill-out a bit more and the other two are looking good - starting to show more brown/orange hairs now and getting denser each day.
Here's the pic update!

Harvest Day for bagseed plant and Dreamtime [Re: Integra21]

It's the end of week 9 of flowering and the two odd-ball plants in this grow were ready to come down.
- After about 3 hours of trimming, these two plants are now naked of leaves and hanging up to dry.
- Wet weights: bagseed - 130 grams, Dreamtime - 120 grams.....total: 250 g wet... if we lose the projected 80% of the weight after drying, we'll come in with just under 2 ounces dry. I'm hoping these won't lose quite that much, but we'll see. I think they're a bit more dense than last time so maybe we won't lose as much as that.
- Check out these pics of the first part of this grow's harvest!! The first 3 pics are the bagseed plant, the nest 4 are the Dreamtime plant and the last is a shot of them hanging.

Lots of room in the tent now for the RD gals to spread out and finish out. It looks like they are going to need until the end of next week before I start flushing. The topped plant still looks a bit behind the other two but not by more than 1 week or so...
I noticed some leaves are turning a dark color..I think it's a dark purple - my wife thinks they look almost dark red...take a look at the pics and see for yourself!

Close to the next harvest already! I've done a decent flush on 2 of the 3 girls this evening and they should be ready to chop by this weekend. The 3rd plant will probably be about 1 more week - I decided to give it as long as it needs, but it will have to share it's space with the Vanilla Kush and Crimea Blue which will begin flowering next weekend as well.
Okay, here's the pic update! Enjoy the nice purple buds!

Thanks so much DGT!!! I think they've turned out rather well. Compared to some other RD journals i've seen online, they're not quite as top-heavy, but I still anticipate a yield of about 1.5 oz per plant..we'll see! The purple leaves/buds are just a bonus...I think I lucked out with that pheno, as the other ones don't have ANY purple on them and I haven't seen any other reports of this strain getting this dark!

Okay, 2 out of 3 of the RD plants have been chopped, trimmed and are now drying. The two plants names are 'Queen' and 'Ruby'. Here's some pictures that were taken during the harvest. I'll follow up with a few more pics of the last plant's harvest in a few weeks as well...

Queen: 206g Ruby: 208g

End of Week 12 + 2 days - Harvest of Red Castle [Re: Dayzt]

Okay, this is it folks - the last red dragon plants is now chopped, trimmed and hanging to dry! She was extremely dry when I cut her, as she didn't get any water for close to two weeks straight. The leaves were mostly drooping completely down, so very little moisture was left in the plant when it came down.
Check out the pics! Her wet weight was 85 grams but I don't think we'll loose nearly as much weight once it's finished drying as the others - time will tell!

Since the harvest was broken up into 3 seperate times (first time was the bagseed and Dreamtime, second time was the first two RD and the last time was the last RD plant...), I don't officially have a grand total for dry weight, but the first two RD plants yielded around an ounce and a half each while the last one had a wet weight of 85 grams. The last one was SO dry at the end though, that I doubt it will lose as much weight as the others did during drying (%80), so I do anticipate getting over an ounce from the last one which would bring the grand total of the RD plants to about 4 - 4.5 oz. The bagseed plant ended up being just under 1.25 ounces and the Dreamtime plant was just under 1 oz....
RD - ~4.25 oz Dreamtime - .95 oz bagseed - 1.20 oz ---------------------- Grand total dry weight...... ~6.4 oz
....not bad for 5 plants - not awesome, but considering what we smoke, it's awesome! We'll have plenty to smoke until the next harvest - my Vanilla Kush should be ready to go in about 8-9 weeks!!!
Smoke Report:
Really, it's too soon to give an accurate smoke report since it's not really fair to judge it whilst it's still curing...but what we've sampled so far is some very potent product, uplifting and hard-hitting at first, very eye-opening and conversational...then it eases out into a nice soft stone that makes for a wonderful evening followed by a knock-out sleep! =)
Once these girls have had a few more weeks to cure, i'll post another smoke report that will be more about the taste and longevity that we're waiting to see this strain show. There's a sweet taste to it now, but it's one that you can sense is struggling to come out, which we're hoping to taste more of in the coming month...
