Instrument Self Teaching

So today I am on a mission to go to a few pawn shops and find a new instrument for me to learn.
I am REALLY interested in teaching myself piano and/or saxophone. Does anyone have experience in playing with these instruments? I'm mostly going to be playing jammy type music, not going to take any lessons either, just teach myself.
Also, was wondering if any of you fine fellows of the growery had any suggestions for musical instruments that are not too hard to learn on your own.

Any wind instrument will cause you to pull your hair out trying to teach yourself. Not saying it's not worth it but yeah. Piano cool. I play guitar myself. Really depends what you're into. I've found guitar the easiest to keep up with cause it's more portable than a keyboard so you can take it places and what not.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.

Harmonica FTW. It's easy as fuck to teach yourself and always sounds good, especially accompanying other instruments.

I used to play the saxophone
Alto to be specific but I think they are all pretty similar in terms of how you play them
It was pretty cool, You need to really work on your mouth strength at first though cause thats how you get the clean sound, otherwise you will sound like geese fighting
Not that hard though, I enjoyed it. if it was a bit quieter I would play it all the time

Ive played the trumpet for about 3 years or so, I dont anymore... I play drums now.
I say pick an instrument thats more interesting to you and if you deeply love the sounds of it, then it will be easier to push forward and learn it.
Feel the music.

I play piano, & it's the easiest i've played so far. I self-taught myself how to play it, & have been playing for 6.5 years. Piano is a beautiful instrument, & sounds wonderful. So if I were you, I would go with the piano, or keyboard. A keyboard is nice for extra sounds 'an all, but, obviously, a grand piano would sound better. I have a keyboard. Find a style you like to play, & what type of music you like to play. Don't get me wrong, it can be frustrating sometimes, but don't give up! Remember; If you feel like you're "never going to get any better" because of poor performance, you're a beginner, & you will get better. Even Ludwig Van Beethoven wasn't an expert at first, he had to practice, & he had his ups 'an downs. Good luck, and have fun!
-------------------- "She quickly stood up & looked down, the door on her shoe had gotten larger. Her shoelaces then quickly took hold of her hands, which caused her to sneeze. She spit on the puddle of liquid rice to her left, hoping it would release the toads from their chains. It did nothing. Desperately she bit into her arm-chair, hoping, praying the bird will hear her call. "Get the lock!" Sponny yelled. But was too late. The door had opened. She quickly grabbed her shoe & threw it, spilling & exposing the contents inside & relaseing those things."
