Hey ive Decided to start growing MJ, i used to grow salvia with great success and finally ordered some seeds: BC Early Skunk & Blueberry
Fast forward to Veg stage I am surprised at how well they are doing, I started them under 2 4 foot flouros and after a week or so changed to this 250w mixed spectrum CFL. and they are really healthy.
I've been using all purpose plant food and it seems to obe giving them a nice colour
BC Early Skunk :
Blueberry ( started them afew days later):
Dont think they are showing sex yet, i have them on 16 hrs of light
This closet is starting to get overgrown, ill be moving to a walk in tomorrow perhaps so keep posted.
any advice is welcome as it is my first time yet though they seem to be doing good so far.

Are you willing to take cuttings (topping your potential mothers/fathers) and sex the clones, allowing a nice perpetual supply of female clones? either way, you seemed dialed in on this grow, I will be looking for updates. Welcome, and good luck.

If $$$ is not an issue, I would suggest looking in to a HID Light...your babies will love that for sure

Depends on the size of your closet Mine is almost 4x4 and I am managing a 1000w...The heat was an issue, but I was able to control it with attic air flow... What are your plans for airflow, what is the size of your closet?

we have the same closet haha, 4x4, yes i might put a hole in the sealing because theres an attic up there i could use though im not quite sure how id go about doing that, i also have a few fans at my disposal, but oder is not an issue as my house is usually hotboxed lol.
Watch me turn this horrid closet into a beautiful grow room!

I have a closing door, not a sliding door...which makes it easy to create a vacuum for airflow...I have one pipe with a fan pushing air out north into the attic, and one pipe in the south part of the attic bringing cool air in because of vacuum. It works now because it's cool up there. I have to think of a new solution when high temps come along in about 2-3 months. Just a thought

Yeah i guess mines not vacuum sealed oh well ill get some fans in there for now. and you guys were right i need a HID badly, I re potted the plants so there all in the one the biggest one is and they are now too spread out for my CFL and only some are receiving optimum light So off to the hydro store tomorrow!

Hey guys, an old friend contacted me and says hes doing a massive outdoor grow and that he needs some cuttings, in fact he said he wanted 15 for every female, is this possible without decreasing yeild of the plant? typically how many cuttings should be taken from one plant? anywho it looks like im gonna be harvesting multiple pounds with this guy and opening a whole new buisness.

Ok New Update!
ok so the light isnt at bad as i thought and they are holding up well, but i am getting a new light tomorrow.
decent growth this week
im only gonna sell 15 clones and keep the rest
decided to top one of the skunks and will mostly take side branches from the rest..
Put some rooting hormone in the clone water along with airstone to speed rooting.
Overall good week for the plants will update soon with new HID

yes ive thought about that, i only topped that one because it will go in my backyard which is surrounded by pesky neighbors and i want to keep it low, and off the other plants i would just take a side branch cutting because of that same reason.. UPDATE!
Well heres the new Light setup after a trip to the hydro store.
430w HPS
Grow room:
I also got this to install
Heres what i plan to do: take 1 cutting off of each plant, root them then place into veg while i flower the plants in the pictures above. once i know whos fem and whose male cull the male clones and continue with them outdoors. Sound good? or would saving the big plants for outside be better? ive got a month till i plant outside.

Nice male dude... That's the clearest depiction of the absolute earliest you can see of a male preflower I've ever seen..
Also, award for most respectable CFL I've ever seen... I want one!
They look like they're loving the new light and space though... Man you're gonna do good by them girls I can see it now... Gotta stick around for this one man!

Thanks! I was even more exited when i found these lovely white hairs!
FEMALES!
And don't forget the clones:
Their in buckets with Perlite and water with an airstone, Kinda like a hydro Hempy bucket.
Yeah things have been going smoothly, only thing ive noticed is slight thinning of the new growth, i thought it was a heat thing so i put the light up a bit, how many feet do you recommed the light be from the top of the plants.. Its not that hot in there its almost room temp as i keep the door open with fan. Thanks!

Congrats on the girls!
Those plants look perfect bro. That big one is definitely impressive as well.
And in my unprofessional opinion, I think a good distance from your light would be 12-18 inches or so? Certainly not feet plural if you can handle the temps...
Good luck man!
