Modifying my reflector

Hey folks,
I've got a 400w HPS but it generates too much heat in the space I'm using. So i'm thinking of drilling some (small) holes into the top of the reflector which I'll have a fan directing air into and another one removing air. Both fans will have ducting connecting it to the reflector. Btw, it's impossible to have the ducting connected to the sides because of a stupid metal plate on the side and since warm air rises I think this would be an optimal solution. But will I loose a lot of light through these holes? Anybody tried the same thing? Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Arachnospore

Show a pic of the reflector if you can.
A fan will be all the help you need.
DON'T drill holes in your reflector.

So here's my idea:
Sorry I'm shit with paint.
Why no holes? It generates over 100F at the moment, I don't think a single fan would be enough

I would think one would do it. The in fan would be overkill unless its a sealed unit. Even then, a vent hole would be plenty.

If you drill holes into your reflector you seriously affect the reflection capability of the reflector. Reflection is super important with lower watt HIDs.
There is a reason most reflectors with air cooling compatability have air fed in through the sides and not through the top.
In other words, I think it may be best to alter your design a bit.
