Yeah man, especially with the double transplant she's gonna be a little tired for the next couple days anyway. When plants are stalled I don't think they use as much water. Plus the bigger container you might only water every 5-7 days for the first week or two, but 3 days should be kosher. I'd love to see the dripper in action though... especially since you've put so much time into it. I think if you get it dialed in it'll come in handy this summer for sure...
Safe travels, and here's to no snow

But honestly man I think if you gave her a really good soak, as long as it doesn't get really hot, she still wont need to be watered when you get back... Her roots wont have even grown into the pot yet ya know?
Also have fun on vacation bro... Oregon is really nice... And nice giant bulb!
THIS.
No drip system needed, especially because you just transplanted she won't be able to suck the moisture out of the new home for probably a week, and you want it to stay dry so the roots go searching into *new* territory causing her to endure a growth spurt. Drought, Rain, Drought, Rain.

And yes shes probably drooping because you were a little rough with her, but don't worry man, they are very resilient plants and will bounce back with a vengeance.
You did a perfect job of the transplant BTW!

Oh no, drooping caused by being too rough? I was afraid of that....Noo!
But, she looks a little more perky today, so I think she'll be OK. I guess I'll just leave the drip system OFF, even thou I really got it dialed in: I installed a second On-Off valve so that I can quickly turn it off-on and leave the other ball valve in position, so it always has the same slow drip rate and I don't have to constantly fine-tune it. So much easier. But you're right about the soil: it can handle 3 days without watering, especially that huge pot.
And these plants like drier soil anyway, like you said Inverted "Drought, rain, Drought, rain, etc.". As of now, its getting dry spots, so one good, semi-soak should do it.
I'm glad you liked my transplant. I tried to separate the roots carefully, without damaging too much, but I could only pull it down like stretching a Slinky, not out like I wanted too. But I think it will do better with the roots spread apart as they are now. Its good to her that she will "bounce back with a vengeance". Sounds like my plant is an evil superhero that's going to escape the confines of her bound chains, and break free! Sweet!
Well, I'm not looking forward to this road trip. I checked the road conditions online: heavy snowfall over Santiam Hwy (the road I need to take), which means I have to chain up my tires (). I'm not sure if its worth the trouble, but I really wanna go snowboarding and see my brother.....hmmm....might have to do it anyways.
Well, gotta start packing. ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

Awesome man! You snowboard!? That's my specialty... Hmmm I will pretend to mentally travel with you, because there is no snow left here.
Yep, if she perked up you are in the clear! You really did do a great job with it though, so be proud of yourself. She'll be a whole new woman when you get back! I love going away for a week to come back to plants you cant recognize!
It really sounds like you have things figured out and are settling down! Not much left to do besides sit back and watch nuggets grow from now on, way to go man. Give her a few doses of bloom nutes in flower, but other than that you pretty much have the "labor" all finished. Just think about how much smoother your next plant will go! To me, it seems like most growers get exponentially better and streamline their process w/ each grow/run. You are on your way little traveler, heh.

Yeeee!
Yup, I snowboard. I used to ski, but my Oldest brother converted me, especially when he gave me a nice, used snowboard for my B-Day. Thanks Bro. Now I like snowboarding. I'll only get to do one day in Bend, but that should be good enough for me. And Inverted, I'll pretend you're right there, snowboarding on my 6, as we both crash into a huge powdered snow bank....ahhh, good times.
Well, I 'm glad all the labor is pretty much done! Whew! I just watered her, and there was a little leaking out the bottom, but it wasn't much. Should last 3 days. The drip system is OFF, like you guys suggested. Thanks for the advice.
Well, its gettin' late (chronic procrabator), so I gotta go....
Off to the Winter Wonderland that is Central Oregon....
See ya in 3 days. ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

Well, I'm back from Vacation! Actually, I got back last night, but I was so tired, I didn't feel like makin' a post. But man, what an experience that was in Central Oregon....
I only got to go snowboarding for a half-day on Saturday, because of all the driving, but it was still awesome to get back on the board!
Here's some of my favorite photos from the trip....
This is Mt. Bachelor, about 20 miles SW of Bend, OR....my home back in 2005 to 2007.
It was funny when I got to the parking lot, and walked toward the ticket counter: there were a bunch of older people in flod-out chairs having a tailgate party, drinking beers and roasting a BBQ, right behind their trucks and RV's....never seen that at a ski mountain before. It was a strange sight, to say the least.
Here's the main lift to the top. It took so long to ride because apparently the main power got shut off from the snow, and they were running on back-up generators....at least they still had it running without the main power (whew!).
Here's at the end of the lift, looking toward the peak. Man was still high. It only took us up like 90% of the mountain. In Lake Tahoe, the main lift always goes 100% to the top of the mountain. I guess Oregon has crazy mountains where you can't do that or something, who knows.....
^And man was it windy on the way up! Like hurricane windy. Dude!
Here's the view from near the top. its Three Sisters (on right) and Broken Top (on Left). If you look at the snow bank, you can see how windy it was by all the powder snow being blown up.
^Gorgous ain't it? I always wanna to drop acid up here....its just so beautiful not too....
And as a tribute to the Growery, and snowboarding, I descided to toke up some Herb on the slopes....so I found a nice quiet spot off the trials in the trees to toke up...
^I didn't own a pipe, so I improvised with a small slider bowl and a Krazy Straw. Worked pretty well, until I started tasting plastic....eww.
And here's the gorgeous view of where I was sitting in the trees, toking up. Its Broken Top, my favorite mountain in all of Oregon....
There's a lot more photos I took, but those are the best.
I also bought a cool new, Sherlock Homes-style glass pipe (improv'd pipe just doesn't cut it anymore) at a local glass/porn shop in Bend. And the lady selling it was so pretty with her space-crystal eyes, hippie hair, and huge boobies in a loose top....mmm. And it was just me and her in the shop, together....alone....for the longest time. It was getting pretty intimate, I have to admit, but nothing crazy happened, just a nice talk about glass blowing. And when she started talking about resin and how she smokes and what she uses to smoke, I just about lost it. I almost had to leave to spank my sausage: hot, older women who talk about weed-smoking and sexy, blown glass in a sly, discrete way (because its against the law to actually mention it, even with High Times Magazine sitting on the counter) is just too hot for me. I'll upload some photos of the pipe when I have more time...
Well, onto the actual purpose of this thread: my journal entry!
Here's her before I left.
*** Pre-Travel: Right before leaving her alone ***
Today's Date: March 26, 2010 (Friday) Seed was planted on: Febuary 5 Date of Flower: March 20 Day 51 (Day 6 of Flowering)
*** Back from a 2 day Vacation: She's StiLL Living! ***
Today's Date: March 29, 2010 (Monday) Seed was planted on: Febuary 5 Date of Flower: March 20 Day 54 (Day 9 of Flowering)
^Well, she's doing good. Looking more like a bush every day! . She was perky earlier in the day when the lights were on, so that's why she's droopy now when I took this photo. She's still healthy, even after all that man-handling on the roots.
- Photo on Right: As you can see, there's some burn damage on just this one leaf from a vertical-hanging 42 watt CFL flowering bulb. I actually had a feeling my left custom-reflector bulb was too close, but I didn't have time to move it over, so I just left it. But the damages is sooooo minor, I don't even care. I think it looks cool, like a battle scar.
I gave her some water last night, even thou the soil was still pretty moist. It felt like a moist cake, not drippy-wet, and not desert dry. Somewhere in-between.
I also noticed some cool leaf-tweaking during the light cycle. On a single leaf, there were the blades of the leaf going one way, while another was tilted in the other direction....it was so cooL! They were like organic solar-panels trying to find the best light available. I'll have to take a photo during the light cycle on Tuesdays....its just Too Cool!
And, I noticed that the white pistils on the sides of the stem are turning from white to red-tipped. What does that mean? Does that mean its in "Flower Mode", like an indicator light?
Well, that's it for now....Be back with some cool leaf/solar-panel photos next time.
Its good to be back.... But I miss the mountain ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

LOL nice custom pipe, those pics make me want go go skiing again. Your plant looks good man. One question though, is it normal for it to droop during the dark cycle?

Thanks...my "custom" pipe did the trick, even if it did taste kinda nasty...oh well...
I love to ski...there's just something about being on a mountain with all that snow that amazes and entertains me....try to get out there when you can, its always worth it, expect on those Defcon 1 days where the weather beats your ass....
As for the drooping during the dark cycle, I'm not really sure.....there's a lot of things that cause drooping, so its confusing. Too much water causes drooping. Too *little* water can cause drooping. But from what I've observed, during the dark times, its limp, and during the light times, its nice and perky. I'll have to ask a T.C. for the real answer, because I really don't know.
Drooping is confusing.... ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

Yeah it happens to most plants, although some strains seem to be stiffer and more fibrous than other strains, allowing them to have that stiff happy look even in the dark cycle because the harder stem surface gives it more rigidity to hold it's shape.
It seems like my outdoor grows seemed to have drooped more in the night cycle than my indoor, so I have to wonder if there's something about different environments effecting the process.

Welcome back Tru, I havent been on much but hellooo, glad to see all is well, still seeing that drooping tho huh, Inverted, I do believe temp and humidity affect this as well along with different strains ability to hold shape. Its a head scratcher lol.
On a side note, my SLH, BB, LA CON, Diesel and Strawberry C are all doing well, the BB, LA and SLH seem to have a edge on the other two, of all the different breeders BB ive grown, suprizingly DP has a (so far) better looking one. Still a long way to go, I need a damn camera and im broke on disability lol sucks.

Ya know, that makes a lot of sense Inverted....explains why some plants have different drooping/perking patterns: it really comes down to genetics (and of course environment).
I don't know any other plant that does this. I used to grow little tropical palms (about 5 inches high) in my place (no grow lights thou) and it would never do this. Of course, its a totally different species, some I'm thinking that MJ might be unique (as well as other plants) in these patterns....
I know the main reason plants perk up is water pressure from transpiration, but I'm not sure how much it factors in in my case or in outdoor grows like you discussed....
PS how did you like my snow photos Inverted? I hope they didn't make you jealous. If so, I'll take them down for you.
To Union420:
So you got a grow log too Union? Sounds like you have a lot of plants. Good luck with that! Too bad you can't post photos thou......there's always the future right?

Correct good sir! Started flowering on March 20, 2010.
I should put that into the "Day" section huh?
I'll do that right now...

Alrighty Harry. No more veg nutes....
So Tiger Bloom (my flowering nutes) on next watering? The Soil is looking pretty dry right now and looks like it needs some water. Is tonight the night?
And what's the concentration I should use? 1 fl. oz. per gallon?
If ya know, let me know....
Thanks! ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~
