Not a question of IF, a question of WHEN

The decriminalization of cannabis of course...
I've talked to quite a few 'old timers' who all thought it would be legalized in the 70's or 80's...
Everyone from my decade of birth seems to be quite convinced that it will happen soon, And with the recent voter initiative in California it's one step closer for the rest of us.
But will it REALLY happen? Not to be pessimistic, but how sure can we really be that it will EVER be decriminalized?

I think it will be sooner. Next year California will have it and then every state with medical will have a voter initiative and then the states surrounding those states will have to. If they don't they will just have everyone growing weed legally ten miles from the border then going to the state where it is illegal and just making bank.
Law enforcement will love it!

i dont know if i agree with full legalization. nation wide medical acceptance would be enough for me i think.
i mean, honestly at that point its gonna be pretty much legal anyway. and i think that is a lot more feasible.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

Just a side question if you have medical marijuana and travel between states will the other state honor your card? The feds will so why not other states?

no, a colorado med card is not accepted in Cali and vice versa. Kind of a bummer IMO
I think it will have to be legalized soon. the medical thing is getting way out of hand. people are "caregivers" for 200 patients and growing 1000 plants in a warehouse but only giving 1/2 oz to each patient. These caregivers are making millions while not actually doing anything for their patients but giving them a little free weed. The only way to keep this business legitimate and taxable is by making the drug legal and selling it like alcohol or tobacco

I believe the states must have reciprocal language in the laws enacting the mmj. I think it'll be legalized within ten years. But to be honest I think that psychedelics have a larger opporunity for legalization. Just becuase the research has been restarted now. Whereas not many people are doing research in marijuana, and NO ONE is doing research on cannibis that is NOT supplied by the federal government. which appears to be a big sticking issue with the organizations wanting to fund the research. But given the epic nature of the first psychedelic revolution we've got to take this second one slow, and not let it get out of control like it did in the 60s. Anyway, I think it will happen something like this for cannabis - more and more states will enact MMJ laws, meanwhile california will go further rogue and pass initiatives to decriminalize it (I doubt the feds would respect a legalization law in CA), after we get 26 states with laws we can more effectively argue that cannabis does, indeed, have medical uses, so it'll be moved off schedule one. Who knows after that. But i tell you this, the day they move cannabis off schedule one will be a glorious day for all of us. I hope we are all together when that day comes.

I don't know if people would like it being sold like alcohol or tobacco. There's government issued weed up here and it's basically shake and it's sterilized by radiation afaik.
Nasty stuff, who knows it could get legalized and controlled then they could be like Oh hey, Marinol is just as good we're only going to have this distributed. The gov't has a way of fucking with shit really good.

Yeah, I've thought of it going two ways.
1) just like you described, or possibly even shittier.
2) like beer now. You have the gross shit like budwiser, but you also have delicious microbrews, or even stuff like sam adams which is produced on an equivalent scale as budwiser, but with microbrew quality (or at least close). you can basically get beer all along the quality continuum.

exactly dude, magash Inc is gonna be like the weed equivalent of the New belgium brewing company.
Also a ton of money stands to be made for venture capitalists, MAGASH if you need investors let me know i know lots of rich people i can maybe help you out with that.
It's gonna be legal in cali come november, at least thats when we'll vote on it not sure if the law will take effect right away.

I think Budweiser is a lot bigger, Sam Adams had a commercial where they said they were only 1% of the beer market.

it might be way smaller, but that's cause of all the shitty rednecks. Basically if you want Sam Adams you can find it very easily. I think it'll be the same way for weed. There will be millions of pounds of shitty weed produced, but the market will always be there for Connoisseur caliber marijuana
