Read about the "french paradox":
a study published several years ago that suggests that the French population's copious consumption of wine may be responsible for keeping their heart disease rates low despite their love of rich fatty foods. since then, researchers have been trying to tease out what exactly in the wine seems to protect against heart disease and stroke. studies have suggested that it may lie in the antioxidant-rich skins of the grapes used to make wine.

Sorry man, you are just wrong. Although red wine is good for your heart, its not as good as beer.

The funny thing is, I'm sure your entire argument in this thread was based on one, MAYBE two sources.

No its based on common sense, yours is based on facts that say wine is good for your heart. That may be true, but beer is healthier than red wine.

First thing that came to mind was Wine for me....
Grapes, obviously the only healthy ingredient.

Were humans supposed to take tylenol for headaches? Or smoke pot for aches and pains? no. Your point is invalid.

chemicals in alcohol??
ethanol binds to acetylcholine, gaba, serotonin, and nmda receptors.
those receptors are activated by many many many different things.
cannabinoid receptors are activated by cannabinoids.. that's it.
not trying to make a point here, why would I even bother, with you?

My point is inverted was asking if humans were supposed to drink. And to answer his question, no probably not. But that doesnt mean that alcohol doesnt have some benifits to us. Were humans supposed to take pain medicine or anything like that? No, but we do because it helps us. His point is invalid.
