Just to elaborate on that, maturity is when the plants begin showing preflowers, usually about four to six weeks into vegetative state.

Yep, I'd get a thermometer and find the best location for one's specific situation. I wouldn't assume you'd want the canopy to be any warmer than 80 to 85 degrees (optimal temperature is to some degree relative, depending on factors like level of light, amount of CO2, humidity).
