I've seen the movie and the one guy is insane. The one who can play like 50+ instruments. While I appreciate his talent I don't enjoy any of their songs.. Unless they do that song that's like "I love my label", which it pretty OK

Anton Newcombe? Yeah he's crazy. He digs his acid. I met him at his Melbourne gig in 2008. He was moderately fucked.

I'm on a tool kick atm. Listening to lateralus and reading the lyrics to the songs. Here's parabola. One of my top 10 favorites off that album. as a side note to my life and this band I will add that this album came out on the day i graduated high school. then five years later (one year TO THE DAY after I graduated college) I watched them play on the stage I received my degree on. I had a closer seat than my parents had! that shit was epic. tool at gammage auditorium. I know a couple members here know that place. It's amazing. I was in row 16 dead center. seat cost about 400$ but it was damn worth it.
Oh shit, I just remembered. This was also the only show ever (that I know of) where they performed Lipan Conjuring. I have a copy of it i can upload if anyone wants it. they opened the show with it. I remember danny came out with a small drum and the other guy and it was all blue and foggy on stage it was neat. they didn't use any microphones or speakers for it either. just the drum and the voice.

I was a fan in high school then moved on to bigger better bands. It just reminds me of the teenage speed freaks from 1999 with the black shirts, pierced faces and tribal tattoos. They aren't the worst band it just all sounds the same to me when being blasted from 2 trailers over. Here's a list of other bands from high school to grow out of: Slipknot Sublime System of a down Korn Kottonmouth Kings Blind Melon Incubus

FB: I'm in northern new england broseph, the brother from the appalacians, biggie for life and all that...But I will do anything to see Tool when they come around again. Another big tool friend of mine told me that they have another album on their contract so they're almost gauranteed to tour again, if not I'll see them at the next festy they play at around here or something. As I said I'm going to do ANYTHING to see them short of sucking Maynard's Dick. (good song)
Coaster doing another textbook example of Coaster.
Steve: I agree I've grown out of a lot of bands since high school including many of those (SOAD, Slipknot, KMK, and Korn to be exact - sublime still kicks ass).
Tool is incredible man, just blows my mind every time I listen to it.. The lyrics, the vocals, drums, guitar.. It's all incredible. APC is nice too.

did you really grow out of them or just change interests? I mean do you still like those same songs you used to love? I know I do. I usually don't stop liking a particular song.

I still enjoy some sublime, I just don't like metal much anymore as for tool and the rest on that list are just unlistenable to me now. I just really got into old rock and all types of weird music. when I was in high school I liked typical teenagery music like metal and rapping, but by the time I was like 17 I was heavily into classic rock and old country/bluegrass and jazz all the weird stuff from the golden age of music. I just rather listen to an old album from the 60's over psych/metal like tool...... I like my prog rock from the first generations like Rush, King Crimson, ZAPPA.
