 Edibles Ineffective?

I've been smoking out on the daily since the 7th grade (I'm 19 now). I realize I need to take a 4 day break to break down the ganja immunity I have going on, but it is my only pain/nausea relief. But I also like to get my buzz on as much as the next guy.
I have tried every edible (including tinctures and ganja capsules) from local dispensaries; yet there still seems to be only two levels for me with edibles. There seems to be no middle ground for me between not being high at all to overdosing and going zombie mode (IE, sleeping for two days straight.) And even when I try my hardest, I've only gone zombie-mode twice; which is better than nothing.
I don't even know what my general question is on this subject, I guess I'm just looking for any tips/experience/advice on dealing with "ganja immunities", especially when it comes to edibles.

I actually have an extremely low/slow metabolism. Part of the reason I smoke/eat edibles is for my GI problems.

HAHA, but sounds like we have a similar problem, regardless of metabolism rate. Have you found anyway to cope besides taking a 3-4 day cannabis break?

I know I can always exponentiate, but alcohol makes me even more nauseous and I only get a shroom flush weekly; if I'm lucky.

Nick- your problem is that you are buying from dispensaries. This is $$$, and you never know how potent each edible is going to be when you buy it. Buy a quarter pound of shake/mexican/schwag or some other shitty, un smokeable shit and make a hundred edibles from it. Shouldn't cost more than $200 total. Eat one, then eat two, then three until you find the correct dosage. If you don't know about making your own edibles, look it up on here.

I am with smokeland. I have only had edibles a handful of times but the few times they came from a dispensary they were either super danky or not at all. I think that's going to be one of the best improvements when things are all legalized, we will have better ratings on edibles and the like.
As for breaking down your tolerence the only thing you can do is cut back or take a break as far as I know but for me a couple day break every few weeks works better then a 4-5 day break when I notice it being a problem. I don't have chronic nausea though my medical reasons are sporadic and more physical in nature.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I have the same trouble with my own budder and oil, and I make them dank as hell with kind buds. Take this as an example; one of the times I did manage to go zombie mode was with capsules. I knew I had a horse tolerance so I took 10 . . . nothing; a couple hours later I took 5 more, nothin'. Then an hour later I said fuck it and took the rest of the package, 5 more, and suddenly I'm a zombie sleeping for two days.
Btw, I realize the quality in edibles varies greatly. Here in Mendo they're usually pretty good, but I still always buy like 5-10 different kinds of edibles in the hopes that at least one of them will have the desired magic in it.
I just can't manage to get "pleasantly high" with edibles; it's either nothing at all or total zombie mode.
Thanks again, everyone, I'm not sure what I'm looking for from you guys in this thread. I'm getting the idea my only option is to take a break. Is 4-7 days of nausea worth a good buzz? Hmmm.

I don't have much experience with edibles but if what you really went three hours without feeling anything from 15 then took 5 and all of a sudden got to much something is very, very wrong. Either the capsules were a mix of bunko and fuck-you-up-pills or some facts have been offset.
My opinion is that if you are in the habit of buying extra to make sure you get a good one, you need to find a new source

There's a million different dispensaries where I live, the quality/sources of edibles isn't the problem; I am. The capsules I had made myself with coconut bud canna-oil.
