ahh yes, beautiful down there. a totally different environment than we have, but your mountains are gorgeous and I just love the look of your half-desert chaparral scrub-lands

I was surprised the first time I visited the Querqe also. I love how old your mountains are. I wonder how tall that beast was before it started eroding like 10 million years ago. you can see how old it is, I love it!

Yes, they are gorgeus, I didn't say otherwise. Just that trip would appreciate the isolated lifestyle in those pleaces

lol sorry, I could only assume you were making some derogatory comment tying in Trips recent activity with some negative connotation about those states

Nice hills you got there.

well I'm technically right on the plains at the base of where the range starts. Those look a lot smaller than they are in that picture because I took it with my shitty camera phone too, they rise about 6000 vertical feet from where my house is. They are technically hills compared to some of the mountains we have here, but here's a better picture of them for you

But in case you're actually trying to say that colorado doesn't have mountains....

 your mountains just aren't as old as ours is all. ours used to be that tall, but they've been eroding for longer than your mountains have even existed. it's a different kind of beauty.
Also, you can't judge the whole state just based on where I am. I'm right on the front range of the entire cluster fuck of the Rocky Mountains. they're just foothills here, but about 40 miles west of me....

I was mentioning age because I inferred from your post that you're not impressed by ours because they aren't as pointy as yours? I don't understand what else you could have meant by that, because looking at the pictures I posted I'd say colorado's mountains are at least as "rocky" and high altitude as yours.

I don't understand why you're not impressed by the rockies. I think it's pretty arrogant of you to say that all mountains in the world are lame just because you live in the Alps, they aren't the tallest/most impressive in the world. Your tallest mountain is only 1000 feet taller than ours anyway, so what makes ours less impressive? plus, the Rockies is the longest mountain range in the world, so isn't that impressive in it's own right? stretches almost completely from one pole to another.

I guess I'm just baffled at how you can appreciate your mountains and then completely discard something as impressive as the rockies. I guess you hate america?

And your mountains are much younger, the way the continental plates move is evidence. Yours are still growing, whereas ours stopped growing tens of thousands of years ago and now merely erode. that's why parts of these mountains look like hills, even though they still have elevations of more than 4000m

no Furrowed that's not what I'm saying at all. I don't think the rockies are better than the alps, just as I don't think the alps are better than the rockies. I think ALL mountains are cool, and it's frankly kinda stupid to try and claim otherwise

wow man for fucks sake. I'm sorry I didn't detect your internet sarcasm very well, but you didn't do a very good job of explaining it. you made multiple posts talking about how you hated the rockies, how was I supposed to know?

I don't even understand what you're so upset about right now. I wasn't even ripping on your mountains, I was just talking about how I love ALL mountains worldwide... what's got your panties in a bunch?

This is what's wrong with many Americans. If we don't love your country, then we evidently hate it. Fuck you.

Wow... joke much? I don't even like America. As soon as I finish my degree I'm out of here.

For fucks sake... I can't even respond to this.

once again I don't understand why you're so angry here... did I rip on you or your home country at all here? I was merely stating facts. our mountains are old. some of them are rounded from erosion. What is so facepalm about any of that? I don't understand what's got you so angry... I never once in this thread attacked you or anything that you like in any way. why so negative?
