How much should I water? Or should I just soak the perlite for now?

the taproot is a root, only more important than the rest because it sends enzymatic signals to the rest of the plant telling it where the water and such is. if you wait until the rest of the roots are poking out of the pellet then the tap root will likely be dead at that point and you'll slow down the progress of the entire grow.

and yes, just get the perlite wet all over. it'll be dry in 2-3 days, which is before the rest of the roots will show anyway

:highfive:

Glad to see you getting started, man.

Bow I think this is on it's way to becoming a good log and your ban has ended in the cult forum.

Where should I put it Grow Journals or the Cult Forum.

Should be fine man.

I germinate more and more seeds in jiffy pellets hydrated with aquarium water.

I happen to change the water a lot on one of my tanks so the ppms are low as hell and it's cleaner than my tap water... not recommending you do this.

I'm trying out germinating in Jiffy pellets for the first time myself as well. I think I prefer the paper towel method as its easier to monitor whats going on. I was hoping to use the little Jiffy greenhouse thing I purchased for cloning but the humidity dome for it is too short to be useful for that purpose.

Yeah thats why I'm getting impatient. its annoying not being able to see whats going on. But if Mandala suggests not using that method I will trust him.

Four days later and still no sign of germination for the 4 that I put in jiffy pellets. I don't think I will be using this method again. Paper towels all the way for me. Atleast these were all bagseed, though  2 of them came from some really dank bud.

When starting in soil use the dixie cup and suran wrap method I believe I've told ya about. Plus did ya keep them warm?

or just use the towel like ya said. Should have done it in the first place.
