I think we're going to start with room design. I'm about to take a shower, hit the hydro store and then I'll come back and start the discussion thread unless Furrowed gets to it first. in the mean time I suggest everyone write up a little something they think is the most important aspect of "getting started" and then we can get that thread off to a hot beginning!

eh, furrowed and I discussed it further via PM and we decided that it was necessary. we won't go into detail quite as much as we could, but giving new users a general guideline on what to think about as far as lights, ventilation, growing medium, nutrients etc makes the most sense. you wouldn't want to start germinating your seeds before you have a place to grow would you? That's what he asked me and I'm inclined to agree

Fair enough, I thought this was more of a discussion for us that could later on be referenced - wasn't aware we were making a guide of sorts.  Whatevs, I'm down.

I think forrowed should start off with the knowledge people should have before attempting to germinate seeds. (Just an idea)
Examples:
- pH meters/strips, the various methods of adjusting your pH and an over view of pH and it's level of importance
- understanding lighting, especially watts/lumens and use of correct terms and their meanings.
-grow room construction 101, the importance of ventilation, understanding what size room will work for the growers personal situation. Maybe a few pics of grow rooms ranging from 400-1000 watts and what is needed for each setup of each size.
I just think that there is a lot a noob has to learn before even attempting to germinate some beans......just

Hi guys! Good to see the enthusiasm! I did start a quick little soemthing on preparing for your grow. It's in my journal atm. I was thinking about it then started doing some research and i got side tracked with apartment growing specifics. There's not much to the post I made. It bascially includes Azyle00's post as a starting point. That post is here....

I think germination is a bit narrow for a weekly topic perhaps roll it in with a week on seedling/clone special care? I do like the roots topic I know there is a ton going on under there and I have no clue what.
