looks like a good spot. if you can try and suspend the lights instead of moving the plants up or down, I found it much easier and you can always have the lights right in the sweet spot.
that shelf though could end up being replaced with a screen for a scrog grow if you want to play with that. I would definitely recommend using LST in an area like that your yields will be better and you have lots of control on how tall you let em get. plus it's lots of fun to play with your hobby instead of just watching.

perfect. dont be intimidated by the scrog it's really easy to install (assuming your proficient with tools) and from what i hear even easier to use.

Nice lst!!! i like it.
Nice plant period. I did my LST a lot closer to the ground just cause I had no clue on how high it would want to get. But letting it get taller seems to have allowed you much easier clean up and training
These are two different plants but you can get the idea RasJeph.

training like this distributes the growth hormones so each side branch starts to go up instead and becomes a cola of it's own. today the small one has 3 spikes shooting up and many more on their way.

yeah thats the basics heh, not rocket science but the results sure seem like it.
what your goal is is to get all the side branches growing up instead of the main tip. once that happens you give it one two more adjustments to get all the tips at an equal height (or use a Scrog) which makes the best use of your lighting.

Well grats on the OK from mommy dearest. I just told my parents last year the extent of what I have done and they did not trip but they were disappointed. my dad and I can talk about MJ reform and such now though without it being weird. they like your mom furrowed will never be for our cause. it is a moot point since they are hardcore mormon.

temperature is everything when it comes to poppin seeds or rooting clones. something about that 80deg mark that's just magical. now go put those fuckers in some dirt!

haha great. i got my first seeds from donated bagseed since i never keep any. i got seeds in every kind of germinating method you can think of. someone even gave me a vial full of some sort of fertilizer with a dozen seeds soaking in it. i just shook my head and said thanks but i don't think these will take, they didn't. but me i do the wash cloth to jiffy pellet method with most all kinds of seeds and the only ones that don't pop i figure were not viable to start with.

uhhhhh how long it lasts will depend on temperature and light exposure. I am assuming the only thing that will 'ruin' it though is algae and other shit that will be in it trying to grow. but if you seal em up and put em in a cold dark spot i would think very little would grow. you could also do a drop of bleach or hydrogen peroxide to sanitize it a bit.
bleach might stick around but if i am thinking right hydrogen peroxide breaks down in light quickly. anyone know for sure?

It's time consuming. When I did it I set my camp stove up with a giant pot we use for canning and boiling peanuts. then I just started shoveling snow in. did my buddies whole driveway and the sidewalk around his house and got a whopping 4 gallons. Moral of that story is distilled water costs .63 a gallon, propane is what 14 bucks a fill now? Save your back and your quarters and just buy it. Then you know its pure you know its right at 7 PH and you have lots of new pots haha. Actually knowing it's 7PH has been a godsend for me since I don't have a water tester yet. That means I can add the same amount of vinegar each time to adjust the PH. I don't know what I make it but I know it slightly lowers the soil PH each time and I know it doesn't kill or burn my plants so that's good enough.
