Yeah when shows start letting the cops in to bust whoever nobody will go the next year
I was with a buddy a few weeks ago who got busted selling doses (they caught him with like 70 and hundreds of dollars in his pockets) and they just took em and let him go

I doubt they are gonna be busting people for anything less than selling
Yep, and they would normally just confiscate what you have and possibly kick you out of the festival. The TN state troopers are the real concern.
I was chilling outside my tent and a hippy with a backpack was crouched down beside a car selling another guy some mushrooms. the mounted police officers noticed it and went after him. they both take off and the hippy tosses his bag full of mushrooms, he was so quick that i didnt even notice. So the officers come over to me (i was like 20 feet away saw it all) and asked where the bag was. I said i had no idea and the cop searched around and found the shrooms underneath the tent next to me.

CosmoCoastin said: As for undercovers tho, you just have to watch out for the obvious signs. If your just bringing your own stuff in you had nothing to worry about. Sounds crazy but people were walking around yelling "where my nugs?" and "i got molly" etc. Dealing was everywhere and out in the open, except at Centeroo where the stages were (they check your bags). People were smoking weed in broad daylight and only dealers really had anything to worry about.
hahah i was just more accustomed to raves with people walking around yelling 'doses!' and whatnot that's on a much smaller scale though compared to festivals.
it's interesting watching things unfold in front of you though... like being on the lot at a Dead show

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

a friend of mine volunteered last year. they have you pay a deposit first, in case you don't reject your duties once there. but they refund it afterwards or something. there's probably more details on their website.
edit - i just looked it up, they say to contact them via email

Mel is right. The deposit is due by a certain date, usually 2-4 weeks before the festival starts. You get your refund a few days after the festival. I believe they have a few options for receiving and returning the deposit. The easiest is paypal but you have to have a verified bank account linked to it.
The volunteer work isn't very demanding. Usually you'll have a few 5-6 hour shifts for a total of ~15-25 hours. They give you meal tokens so you can get food from vendors. I worked for the rolling stones magazine booth in 09 and got to meet the publisher from the 90s. He wasn't very demanding about the work, i just had to go around and try to sell subscriptions and give away t-shirts. Got to work with 2 awesome girls that were working the same booth. We just took breaks and watched shows during our shift. Some of the jobs can be pretty hectic, especially if you work the information booths, you have to direct people to their location and stuff like that. It just depends on what job you get but u can ask for a preference, they'll tell you all of that stuff in the e-mail tho.

What are you talking about? Got a link to the law or anything? I would imagine it would be OK becuase it's a sactioned, legal, commercial event. The community has an economic interest in this event. I would think that the law you are talking about is geared toward stopping rogue groups of large people there for no real purpose. But what the fuck do i know?

True. But there are some solid bands in there. Kanye is the worst one on there though. Followed closley by dave matthews.

Agreed, plus any person that uses their name in the band is usually a doucher.
