Solely, no. You would want supplemental nutrients for your plants. Adding compost is a great thing for your soil, but when you do this with homemade compost you don't really know what all your putting in there.
If your new at this then I would suggest that you start off with a basic soil mix like Ocean Forest, and use a simple nutrient line like Fox Farms.
