mine are broken . the volume controller is the problem , it gives static when turned up and when move the wires around it creates large amount of static , very irritating and limiting .
how to fix a faulty volume controller ?
took it apart and not visibly broken , just wheel attached to circuit board with 6 wires coming off , all properly soldered to it .

Take a very close look and see how well those wires are soldered to the board still. Look for cracks in the connection and if there are heat marks on the back of the board it's connected to.
