Can I ask, what is your greenhouse made out of? (The canvas/sheet)

i definitely will, about another 6 weeks till flowering i think, can anyone give me advice on my topped sativa in the bonsai pot, i'm curious as to wether i should top it again or not

and as to wether it would wise to try make it a bonsai mother or is it too late to do that, and im wondering if i did make it a bonsai mother would it be hard to keep it alive through the treacherous winter

Its a little one sided in height but I personally would take the tallest three limbs and bend them over and do a ScrOG but then again im insane

As for the winter, that greenhouse won't hold up for shit if it reachs freezing or colder around you. Bringing it inside should be fine but you will have to pay for the sun

I wouldnt use that plant but instead use one of the smaller ones you have and start training it now.

thats tempting to try i'll get on making a screen instead  this is my first grow so i dont wna mess the plant up, not having much experience training bonsais i think i'll save it for next season it definitely something i want to try though.

The reason i wanted to use this plant was because i rather sativa and she has very good genetics and is sturdy

if i was gonna bonsai that plant though i would of topped the 2 longer stem so they were the same height as the shorter ones i guess a screen could work very nicely with it now i think about it tho thanks for suggesting it  i think the lowest the temp gets in winter where i am is  about 6  but yeah it probably would be hard  unless i set her up indoors under a CFL rig

Just make sure to slowly bend those limbs down like maybe 6in closer to the desired level a day.For each limb take a cotton t-shirt and cut a strip out of it and make sure its like 4in wide. tie that right above where you want it to bend and one half way up. Then you can just fasten fishing line to the t-shirt strips and put a stake in the ground and use both to control a slow bending of all limbs.

BTW at least from what I have done and from others pics, bonsai mothers are like 2ft max, like I had one the was 8in tall but I could take 10-20 clones every 2-3 weeks still. The smaller and denser mothers are the easier they are to control usually.

What about re-vegging this plant after harvest to take some clones from later this year, would that be possible? i'd really like to keep these sativa genetics for next season if possible, thanks for the help dude

i might have a few more q's once i start constructing the screen

Sure can if you have a way to give the plant enough light hours a day, to re-veg just leave at least one small bud at the bottom of the plant.  The more buds you leave the more future nodes you will have.  You can chop everything above that off during harvest, and after about a week of so you should start to see new growth coming out of the buds.  They will start off as twisted retarded looking growth, but will quickly turn into normal healthy looking growth.  I have 2 plants right now that are being revegged or "monster cropped" as some call it, one vegging and one flowering, if you want me to post pics I can.

Holy outdoors in January batman.

I wish It were that time.  I love growing natural trees in these prairie hills... :yesnod:

If you want to keep the genetics why can't you just take clones and keep them small indoors?  I must be missing something.

I absolutely love growing outdoors.  It's my passion.

I've never seen a SCROG outdoors, that'd be funny.  Those are primarily used when you have a limited height to work with, to keep the plants small.  Since you're outdoors I wouldn't even fuck with it.  Revegging after harvest will be difficult.  As duct said, you will have to supply the plant with extra light.  I suppose you could TRY to take a clone while its budding and trry to root it indoors under 18-24 hrs of light.  If you do that be sure to let us know how it goes.  I've never seeen anyone do that and no nothing about the suceess rates of that tek, but it would be interesting to see someone try it out.  also if this is your first grow i probably shoulden't even be recommending that since it requires several advanced teks to do.

Hey furrowed I think he said it's not going to flower for 6 weeks so cloning would be a breeze.

Just take a few clones, keep the strong one, if it ends up growing too large, just take a couple more and get rid of the old large mothers.  You can keep genetics alive a long time doing this and don't need a large mother space.  Just a few nice CFL's would keep you going.  Just keep going through generations of the same exact genetics.

I've done this before just for experimentation' sake.  I took a clone of the bottom of a 6 week flowered girl.  It rooted normally, but as it grew it turned hermie.  Not saying that is normal, just what happened to me.  I should also note that when you re-veg, or monster crop a plant, it has the potential to lose it's "genetic integrity" as I have read.  I had one strain that grew pink pistils during flowering, when I revegged it it didn't grow nearly as many pink pistils, they were few and far between.  Not that pink pistils are a sign of anything good, it was just a characteristic that I could easily notice and track.  The plant grew healthy and potent nonetheless, but you could tell there was a difference between the way it looked the first time it flowered.
