Germination Problem?

Hi I think I may be having a problem germinating. I placed one seed between two paper towels. There kept in darkness in about 78 degrees. I water the paper towels so its always moist. Anyways its been 4 days and nothing looks different. Does anything sound wrong there?

Try taking a plate, place a wet paper towel on top of the plate. Then put your seeds on the first wet paper towel. after that take another wet paper towel, and place it over the seeds.
(The reason your seeds aren't germinating is probably because you have moving air and the seeds/water is drying out)
anyway after the 2nd towel is over the seeds, cover the plate with saran wrap and you should be good. (never failed for me)
Best of luck

You can also put seeds directly into the ground. Or put them in a cup of water. Altough the paper towel method is preferred over here.

Could I put a seed directly into vermiculite? And if I do that should I water it with distilled water?

vermiculite would work but you'd have to take it out of there right after it germinates so it wouldn't really be the best option.

Well I have an aerogarden. So couldnt I wait till it sprouts in the vermiculite then move it to the aerogarden? Would that work?

yessir that would be fine.
the aerogarden is alright, but you should also consider getting additional light for it. the bulb that comes with it is pretty weak

You still have to PH test your distilled water. But yeah if you can afford it I say do it.
