Is there such a thing as too much bush?
    #343543 - 01/08/10 07:21 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

Hi again,
  I have read a ton of info concerning thinning out the plant so light can get to more of the interior, it's all very confusing, so I am asking you for your opinions. Since I have gotten excellent advice and opinions here before, I think I  can't go wrong.[url=http://files.growery.org/files/g10-001/300250112-2_BABYS.jpg][/url

  So far I've not had any issues yet. I want to start flowering soon, as I'm running out of room. I will be enlarging my grow box after harvesting.

Expect your plant to double or triple in size when you switch to flowering. What type of light are you using? Those plants look really nice.

Woah that is really bushy

you could impliment some sort of low stress training like a screen to spread it out a little so the light can penetrate more

here's one I grew. prolly the bushiest plant I've ever grown

veg;

flowering;

I don't think you'll have any issues with it as bushy as it is. if you really want to you could train it, but definitely don't cut any leaves. as magash says, you don't take the solar panels off your house to make it more energy efficient. having leaves to use the light is more important than the light reaching the interior of the plant

I'm using 125 watt CFL. It started out as an experiment, I think its going well. But as this is my second grow and my first indoor..... well I didn't realize that they would double or triple in size OMG!! I need a bigger house :grin:

Haha they look really healthy though, care to tell us what soil/nutes and everything you are using. Do you know the strain of your plant?

wow that's really under just 125W of CFL? very very nice job man.

I would recommend also doubling your light when you flower. the increase in size means a decrease in effectiveness of your light.

I have had to trim quite a lot off of it already, It had grown such large "panels" they were laying on top and it looked like my baby was smothering, but I don't have any immediate plans on trimming off more.

I agree very healthy.

Bratcat I have just two recommendations for you :smile:

1) get that light closer to the plant. you can literally have that thing like an inch to 1.5 inches from the top of the plant and still be okay. the closer the better :thumbup:

2) start flowering TOMORROW! that plant is gonna be massive!

otherwise, very well done so far.

Thank you. I Don't know what kind of seed. I was a donation by a caring friend who claimed it was some "kryp" as far as my soil I'm using Fox Farm and I have been giving very light mix of alaska fish fertilizer and superthrive in every three waterings.

I think thats an excellent idea. I can switch out bulbs and set my time back with no problems. The new bulb will be a cfl also but this ones 2700k  warm full spectrum...... I was wondering, would it be over kill to use both lights?

At the risk of appearing slow  I need some clarification please. The cfl light that  I have for the vegitative stage  was sold specificaly for the spectrum it has thats conducive to  vegging. That will not impede flowering once I have put the new bulb that is more on the red side of spectrum .Should I decide to use both bulbs?

Yeah...

You'll know when you think you might injure your penis.

:rolleyes:

I'm so sorry, but I had to take a comical stab at this.

And whatever

You can use it as metaphor if you'd like
(Things work that way too)

Peace and good luck and fortune, friend.
