Smell

I'm worried about it. But also I dont know if I will have money left over to controll it very well. I will be growing in my bedroom and leaving the windows open (i'm on the top floor). Can anyone think of a good thing to do for smell that wont cost much or anything? It gets nice and cold in my bedroom right now cuz its winter time. I like it, and it should keep my plants cool. But smell is my issue. Again any ideas are appreciated.

Well I could afford the filter, but not the fan to move the air through ducting. I'm only gonna have 1 or 2 plants max. I'm doing hempy buckets I have a 400 watt HPS for flowering. It will be in my bedroom. I grow in an apartment......so smell will be an issue.

well all the smell killing options will cost money that i can think of. Try looking online for a decent used fan that will fit the lightly used carbon filter....see if u can find a deal online or somethin bra...i found one for cheap locally on ebay. Smell is a major concern dude...its nice to feel secure about it....im on the top floor of my apartment so i made a hole in the ceiling and stuck the ducting through it...and pushed the clean/heated air through it...maybe u can get away with just gettin a good fan and pushin untreated air up there...depends on ur setup...

lol did ya look at my picture. I was thinking about making my box airtight and then putting square filters on either side, so that the air can move through. Then I will just use a fan that is already in my bedroom to push the air through. It sounds too easy to work though.

ic...well do u have some income comin in? Just wait till u can do it right bra....its really not worth fuckin around with problematic systems...go with what u know works and works well. My advice is...keep lookin around for good deals online and through friends or whatev. Once u got all ur shit together...start ur seed or get ur clones...and then u wont worry bout nothin. Smooth sailing in most cases.

sorry that i dont have much advice since i am just starting to grow inside and have to deal with this problem as well but you can either spray febreeze every hour, although that would help little. If they allow you to smoke you can smoke a lot of cigarettes in there, if you do already. definitely burn a stick of incense after stick and hopefully that'll help some, if they'll allow you. one of my friends uses this filter but it's a little expensive http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120361087941&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RCRX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=120345972540&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DCRX%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4#ht_11823wt_1167
edit: forget cigarettes i forgot that itll probably fuck up your plant

hey trip, just search out some of the DIY carbon filters. they're WAAAAY cheaper than buying a premade, and you can make a much smaller one that will work for your small grow.

But see I dont have money for a can fan, so its pointless to have a filter if I have nothing to push the air through it.

Hmm you make a good point. How much would it be to make a DIY carbon filter. I've seen them made but around how much for supplies?

not sure tbh, never made one. I'd venture to guess somewhere between $20 and $50

I'm just tryin to do this as cheap as I can, cuz I can pretty much start after I get a hood, but I'm worried about smell....and thats gonna cost more. I'm wondering if there is anything I could do to just make it not smell outside of my bedroom. And how much would one plant smell?
