Trading seeds?

Not sure where else this should go, since there's no security/marketplace forum but mods feel free to move it if you think there's a better place.
This is an entirely hypothetical situation, but say a friend of mine had a shit load of seeds of a strain they didn't need, and would like to trade them for a different strain. How would this friend go about trading these seeds safely? Is this possible online? If it's not recommended to do so online, how would one go about mentioning it to a dealer/grower without them thinking your an undercover or something. I mean, obviously if you're buying from them they trust you to an extent, but would inquiring about trading/buying seeds be reason for suspicion? Are there any other ways that anyone can think that one could do this without risking danger?

Any types of trade in the US is illegel and will be a risk.
But seedbay maybe worth looking into.

Seedbay seems like an interesting and useful concept, but every time I try to go to "list item" it comes up with a blank page. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't seem to be like a very functional website, at least on the listing end. Unless I'm retarded.

I think you need to contact them first.
They may even need the product you wish to list, being they handle the shipping and what not.
I'm sure they'll help you get things figured out man.

That's kind of shady. Why doesn't it function like ebay where the seller is responsible for the shipping themselves?

Maybe due to the laws behind it all man.
That place isn't shady tho, I've done much business with them.
If you think about it's much safer that way too.
Being you only have to deal with them.

Yea, that's true I suppose, keeps your addy safe from the person receiving it, eliminating the possibility of anyone involved getting in trouble. I guess it makes more sense, I'll see what they're about.

Still though, the shit is so expensive on there. And I mean, with over 800 listings, how long will it be before someone finally sees my shit and buys it? And even then, they get 40% of the money I would have gotten from it. It's a great idea, but it seems like there's still a lot of draw backs.
What I want to know is why there is not a free seed ring like there is in the online mushroom community and their free spore rings. It would obviously have to be based in a place where seeds are legal to possess and trade/sell, but what would one have to do to make this shit happen? Is there no one in the cannabis cultivation community that would be willing to take on this endeavor?

From what i have read most seedbanks require testing before they list your product as a new 'breeder' and i use that term loosely. I dont know if seedbay is like that or not since they do that server fund thing.
