I got 4 Fly Ribbons. Ther about 2 ft long.
What about a soap spray? Would that help. There's one I've seen around here.
I've worked so hard to get to this point. Ready to add a 2nd hps light into my remodeled grow room and I don't want them in there. At the moment they are contained in the mother/clone room.
Will get more ribbons. They are cheap. This is not the way to start the biggest grow I've tried to do.

i don't know about soap spray, i had problems with white flies this past summer. we took care of it with a shit ton of fly strips and sticky traps and ladybugs. but we caught it really early on.
pytrethrum may help, we used some for our plants but i'm not sure if it was that or the lady bugs or the sticky traps that helped. maybe the combination of all three but i can't say for sure.

I'm in the early stage. Kill 5 or 10 every time I go in the room. Also picked a few leaves that had eggs. Maybe see 20 to 30 flies when I shake all the plant.
Pyrethrum, Have to think about that one. Not something I like right off the bat. Still have a long in the clone stage.
Lady Bugs, that one I like. Did they stay in the grow room? Or get all the house?

yah, if your plants aren't flowering a little insecticide will go a long way to eradicate your pest problem.
Also, thinking about this, sticky traps take care of the adult flies, but if you really want to kill the problem you need to go after their eggs. Check the undersides of the leaves on your plants and look for the eggs/larvae. If you get to them while they're in that stage, and are killing the adults with sticky traps, you'll have a better chance at getting rid of them.
Either way, be vigilant and keep up with the sticky traps.

we had our outdoors, with mesh all around so they had no choice to stay with the plants.

yep. a little pyrethrum won't hurt, and as far as i know is only active for a couple days, but it helps get it under control to the point where you can take care of it for the most part with sticky traps. it's time consuming, but i used diluted pytrethrum and a bunch of q-tips. basically i would dip the q-tips in my pyrethrum mixture and coat the underside of the leaves, especially the ones with visible eggs or larvae. it worked pretty well. didn't get rid of the problem completely but it did get it down to where there were very very few and not really an issue.
an easier way would be to seal off the room completely and set off a pyrethrum/pythretrin fogger and let that do its job.

i'm just saying if it gets out of hand, it's always an option, especially if they aren't flowering yet.
i hate using insecticides, but when you grow outdoors sometimes it's the only way.

Completely agree, Neem Oil on the other hand I have no problem using. And I love being able to just order some predator mites or nematodes to take care of problems.
Screw pyrethrins unless it's absolutely necessary.

I have current experience with Pyrethrum on my plant too. If you grow roses you will know that Pyrethrum kills ANY insect ANYWHERE near your plant/s. There is a catch though, you have to know how to apply it to different plants and know that it can burn if applied incorrectly. Eg. Rose leaves are much thicker/denser than Marijuana leaves - Make sure you have a spray bottle with the FINEST mist setting possible. For the record, I applied it for 2 days in a row (just once/day). The next day there were shrivelled up, dead caterpillas all over my plant.

Back to the fight.
Must have a shit load of eggs.
Sprayed pyrethrum a few days ago. More took off flying than I ever thought were in there.
But There was some leave burn
Now those fucks are back in force. Will try the ear cleaner thing with pyrethrum.
The sticky traps are working too.

No,this is a spray sold at the hydro store.
Next time I'll try one. This cost the same but had more in it.Came out more like a foam than a spray.
Need to kill eggs to win this battle.

I like pyrethrum bombs because they penetrate the entire room. Just do use one per week for like 2-3 weeks to make sure that your killing anything hatching from eggs and you should be good to go.
