I have been reading a lot about soil mixes on here. My question is, do you have to let the soil sit after you mix it(i.e. peat, blood meal, bone meal, bat shit)? Or can you mix the soil and use it right away?

Depends on what you want. I let mine sit for a couple weeks to cultivate the microherd, but if you'll be using tap water, or synthetic nutes, you don't have to worry about that b/c you'll be killing them all anyway. If that's the case you can use it as soon as you've got it all mixed up.
