miles davis was persuaded by clive davis(no relation) to play some gigs with rock bands in the late 60's to promote his fusion albums, bitches brew and the like...
he was set to open for a few groups at the filmore, the grateful dead being one... steve miller being the other.
he hated steve miller band so much, that he showed up late for the gig so that he had to play after steve miller band.
though, surprisingly enough, miles had good things to say about the dead.
in short
regardless of what the prince of darkness thinks, steve miller is nothing special IMO. more power to you for getting down to it though
