Drying

I am drying some small sidecar buds by hanging them. They have now been drying for 4 days and the small stem barely breaks. They still have a mild odor of grass clippings.
The nubs are dry enough that I can cut one up and smoke it no problem already. I get mild to fair buzz and the bud burns fairly even. When I break them up, I find some semi damp center spots, but even that burns and smokes fine if air dry and cut up for a few minutes.
I have been doing this to test the trichomes for ideal harvest over time, 4 large size nubs each few days.
Given all this information, is it time to cure them already?
Thoughts?
Also, in a drying cab, a very mild air flow is acceptable? I am drying at 70-75, hanging, no direct light, some indirect light, no direct breeze of air, humidity 40-50, mild air flow.

To test trichomes get yourself a handheld microscope. Harvest buds when trichomes are mostly cloudy for a head high or when yellow or orangish for a body type high. And I would say the buds are ready for curing when the stem snaps when you bend them, and there are no moist spots throughout. Otherwise your buds will mold while they are in the jar.

I have a microscope and know about trichs. Question was more about when to cure, not harvest.
Anyhow, I decided they were dry enough and will cure them now. I think I have dried them too fast maybe and have reduced the air flow further into the dry cab.

Well I guess I was confused by your question. What do you mean by "test trichomes"?

There are many stages between cloudy head high and deep amber body stone. I want to test it daily to pick the ideal buzz to harvest the whole crop.

If they're "damp" in the middle, I would say it's too early to start curing them. If you stick buds in a jar when they still have dampness in the middle your asking to get mold.

Exactly what he said, make sure they are crispy dry all the way through before jar curing, they will get that soft texture you are probably used to seeing in good bud once they have cured for about a week. The longer the better of course. Make sure you burp the jars everyday for the first week.
