4 of us were standing there waiting for him to lay down more pallets. he had a stack on the lift then he ran into another stack which hit another short stack that was about knee height. i went straight to the ground dude...mad force behind that shit. i don't think i'm hurt and i told the supervisor i didn't know what happened cuz it was on my side. not tryin to get into paperwork and piss tests n shit. bein the nice guy i am, i told them i didn't know which driver did it, so maybe he could keep his job. between me and him though, i told him i was gonna break his fuckin jaw if he did it again. and i mean every word of that, believe me. told him he owes me too. im still pissed about that shit, they said i hopped up off the ground and started goin off on him and threw a hammer and it made sparks n shit. i was pissed man. really glad i'm not hurt bad more than anything though, that shit coulda fucked me up.

yeah i'm good i wasn't hurt. i wear steel toes all the time. know this though, if something such as a forklift runs over your feet and you have steel toes on, it's probably gonna take your toes off.

yeah steel toes are alright for dropped tools or small freight. if someone sets a 10ton pallet on your foot your still fucked.
buddy of mine had a huge steel I been roll over on his foot the docs said it was fortunate it hit the middle of his foot instead of where the steel toe was cause his toe woulda been crimped in the boot.

That sucks man. I REALLY hope you went to the doctor anyway. It's your right and you should exercise it even if you aren't 100% sure if you are really hurt. Most employers will require you to take a UA test if you get hurt though. That's what i tell all my buddies to look out for. I don't know jack shit about Virginia's work comp laws though. If anyone's injured in the states of AZ, UT, CO, or NM then you can PM me for some help with any work comp situation. I know more about work comp than i do about cannabis unfortunately. The reason i say to go to the doc now is because if it gets progressively worse over the next few days you might have lapsed on your time to file a claim (if you haven't already). Good luck fbd! Merry xmas everyone! I just dropped in to post this.

no point in going to the doctor. i have no insurance. times are tight right now, so money is at a premium. im sure i wasn't hurt and plus to get workman's comp you gotta piss. i'd burn a hole in the bottom of the cup man.

Fuck man I don't remember. It has to be super massive force to push the metal through the sole of the boot.
I know they tested out a bunch of different possible scenarios though.
It was years ago so I don't remember specifics, but It was around the time I worked in the machine shop and I have steel toes so I paid attention to that one...

Steel-toe boots are more dangerous to your toes than normal boots when a heavy weight is dropped on them. Whereas a normal boot would just crush your toes, a steel toe would curl and crumple in, cutting your toes off.
Busted
Using similar tests to those used to test steel toe boot certification, Adam and Jamie determine that your toes are much safer with steel toe boots than without. There was no toe-cutting curling of the steel toe, and even using a blade attachment didn’t work, only glancing off the steel toe to cut right above where it ended.

yeah i should add to my story that my buddy was still layed up in a wheel chair for 9 months after they rebuilt his foot from bone shards. so steel toe or not he was screwed on that one. that was also the fault of a crack head on the crane, fuck crack.

Dude over the summer I did labor landscaping for ten weeks. I have a pair of boots that my friend stole from somewhere.
with an ounce for scale. I was moving this air compressor (being used for jackhammers) with two big Salvadorans. I had the hitch thing that attaches to the truck. They told me to put it down and I dropped it on my foot. I know helluv retarded . That shit hurt for a week.

I strongly believe there should be a rule that a crack-head can not be allowed to be in control of anything that weighs more than him/her.

I know the feeling I walked in on my cat one time while it was licking it's pinky punky. It looked at me like I was trying to sneak a peak or something. Very weird
