Healthcare
    #335025 - 12/22/09 10:26 AM (14 years, 11 months ago)

So, overall I am a little disappointed in the dropping of the public option. But at least the reform is still alive.

I feel bad for every other family that is without insurance like mine this time of the year, and I hope this will help the standard of living for us all. At this point, I still view Obama as the right choice.

Health care in my opinion, an open and shut case.

And if people flame me here is a preemptive I don't give a fuck.

My health insurance ran out a couple months before I got into a car accident and actually needed it for the first time

You are right, but man insurance is the most useless, useful thing you will ever pay for. Thats just in my opinion of course, but I dont have health insurance as well. My wife and son do, but I am a different story. I had it until my job shut down, and we all got laid off. That basically left me with nothing but unemployment insurance.

Obama is definately right, I mean if things in america were better off, then I would agree with all the haters, but man there are too many families without any assurance that they will be taken care of.

Some people choose to live off the government all their lives, and rightfully so, I mean why not? The feds pay for everything you own and smoke....but I am different about the situation. I like to do for myself and when I look back at the end of my life, I want to know that everything I have gotten or earned, I got it honest and worked for it.
Sounds kinda old school, but I hate the government enough, the less I have to do with them the better, plus that money could be put into schools and road development instead of a lazy ass person's pocket.
Dont get me wrong, Im lazy as fuck, but I think my pride gets the best of me most of the time.

No no no no no.  Do you guys not realize that the government fucks up every large project that it undertakes?  This is not the direction that America should be moving.

Damn straight.
I mean really who the hell has any idea how to get america out of debt except for the hemp and marijuana industry. Seriously every state that has an MMJ plan has actually seen an increase in their state revenue.(I think thats the right word for it.)

The public option isn't free, it wasn't going to be a hand out.  You were going to have to pay for it.  This is one of the BIGGEST misconceptions about it.  All it was going to be is a health care option that was government ran that you could buy into.

This was so important to try and get into place.  The insurance companies fuck over the little people on a regular basis because they don't have any where else to turn to get insurance.  It's the governments responsibility to make sure that corporations don't have the ability to do that.

And for anyone who doesn't think the government should be in health care.  WTF do you think Medicare is??    That was just a pre-emptive strike.

All he is doing is extending the already existing state Medicare system. How can anyone argue against that?

I already qualify for medicare cause of my income, but I have no problem with them extending it to more people who are uninsured

If you make less than 20,000$/yr and dont have free health care then it's because you are too lazy to apply for it.

Hell I even qualify for food stamps.

And it's not like people are getting angry or pissy.  Without discussion and thought on these subjects we will never be able to advance forward.  Debate is necessary.

Very very true man.
I love debate. I mean I dont ever expect people to agree with me, but I try to look at things from every possible angle and the only way to get insight from each side is by debate.

Im not mad.lol.

Peace.
