no I wouldn't trim it at all. like magash says, you don't remove the solar panels on your house to make it more energy efficient.

I would however get those lights closer to the plants. if you can get all 4 of those bulbs within about an inch from the plant at the most you'll get some very nice growth.

if you want the inside branches to grow faster, tie it down

When it is still a little baby, it is flexible as hell. You don't have to tie it ALL the way down or anything. That is why it is called LOW STRESS TRAINING. Think of yourself as a physical fitness coordinator. Youo wouldn't make a trauma victim learn how to walk again in one day or tie it all the way down. You train it. Start it off by hooking it down just by a few degrees, like 25-45 degrees. This won't stress or harm your baby's stem. Then, in a couple days, increase the angle of the bend to around 70-90, whatever you think the plant stem can handle. These plants are the same as real children, they recuperate exponentially while they're still young. AND DON'T TIE A KNOT AROUND THE STEM!!! IT WILL KILL YOUR BABY!

Just give it as much water as it needs, not too much. Just compare the amount of heat, the size of the pot it's in, etc. The hotter it gets, or the smaller the pot, increases the amount of water needed. Or, just pick it up. Compare how heavy it is when it is fully drenched, and how light it is when absolutely dry. Give water at half-weight. I used 6-8" pots on some of mine, and fed them about a 3rd to 1/2 gallon every 2-3 days depending on the plants needs.

And hey, Merry Christmas. I raised your rating to 3 and dropped the horrible zero. I will raise it higher when she makes it out alive! Good luck  grower!

I even tied my fully vegged plants down and had no problem.  I tied my girls plant in a full loop, you just have to "feel" how much the plant can take, and after many a broken branches i've figured out the sweet spot.  And NO! Tying a knot will not do any harm, unless its really tight and the plant grows around it.  Just move it a half inch on the stem every couple days and you'll be fine.  And you should never use anything thinner than string as it WILL cut into the stem over time.  These are all lessons learned and I don't want you to make the same mistakes.

thanks for all the help and love good place anyway.... for lighting im using 4 23w 6500k cfls if you didnt know already... however i want to be prepared for when i decide to flower i bought this 42w 3600 lumens CFL from walmart and no where does it say 2700K or anything but when i turned the light on next to my 6500k cfls that look blue/white and this 42w light appears orange so this means its around 2700k im guessin?? and about how many of these 42w should i get for flowering 1 indica plant??? also during flowering should i change up the spectrum and keep my 6500k cfls running along side the 2700k cfls??

yeah it's fine man.  Use as many lights as possible is all i'm saying.  I'd get 3-4 of those 42w lights in there.  Those are the ones I use for supplemental lighting.  Yeah it's fine to use the blue spectrum bulbs for flowering to get a full spectrum but i'm gonna have to say you will honestly get better yields if you switch out those with more of a red spectrum like the 2700 or 3000.  They still look white compared side by side w/ the HPS though...
