so i bought a sun leaves aurora reflector for 35 bucks the other day, and im looking up everything else i need to get the light in full operation.
i plan on getting a 400 watt digital lumatek ballast. few questions on this...
i may be mistaken, but it seems as if there are 2 choices here. a 400 watt 120V ballast, and a 400 watt 240V ballast. which is better, or is it both 120V and 240V? i dont understand electricity at all. and also, from the ballast i need the lamp socket. now, are they universal, or do i need some kind of attachment? does it matter what brand of reflector i have?
120/240 refer to what kind of plug you'll be using...if its a standard household plug its a 120v. You need a mogul socket for the bulb, the socket itself shouldn't be brand specific, but the cables to go from ballast to socket might be.

me and the hydro store guy decided on a setup, and he said i would need an extra cable to get it all hooked up, and that he would throw it in or free. just wondering how it all works.
