benzo addiction for people who have been there

if you havent been deep into benozs dont respond to this. im in need of real advice.
iv been taking quite a lot of xanax bars as im sure you all know, and its getting a point where im thinking it might be a good idea to quit.
i mean, usually when i say this, its because i fucked something up. ruined a relationship, got kicked out of my house, lost my job, etc....) something a long those lines
nothings happened really, but my tolerance is getting kind of high. i ingested 8mgs (4 TRA2 bars in 4 hours). and i feel not much more than a light buzz. and its not just me thinking that. everyone agrees im acting pretty much normal.
i know that its obviously tolerance, but when does tolerance become withdrawals? is it to late? or does that happen a while later?
im pretty serious about this, so if y'all could not make jokes i would appreciated it.

I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

if you are already physically dependent, you should ween yourself off and kick that shit. Nothing good is going to come from benzo addiction , you are probably even better off being addicted to opiates.

The time taken by a body to show withdrawal symptoms may vary from four to six months at dosages between 2 mg. to 4 mg. A history of addiction to Xanax can lead to addiction occur more rapidly over a shorter period of time, with more intense withdrawal symptoms.
Based on what I've gathered from your posts, I'm pretty sure that quitting is going to hit you with a significant withdrawal syndrome. Benzos are damned addicting, even at prescribed levels, and you seem to have been exceeding those significantly.
If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been using benzos?
The thing about benzodiazepine withdrawal is that, unlike most withdrawal syndromes, it can actually kill you. So if you've been abusing hard for a substantial amount of time, it could be important to have some medical supervision for detoxing.
I've never been in that position, so I don't have much advice to offer, but I'm sure everyone here is wishing you the best of luck with it.

I talked to someone who was a benzo addict for a few years, he was hospitalized for his withdrawals and they weened him off. If I am not mistaken, benzo withdrawals can cause seizures and death.

This is absolutely correct, and not to be underestimated.

"Care packages" once a week or so, up to 20 doses in three days, up to 6 doses in a single setting!? This would definitely constitute regular use at a high dose, and could definitely contribute to serious withdrawal symptoms if you abruptly discontinue use.
You're playing with fire, but the worst part is that you don't seem to realize it. The relative coherence of your typing even seems to indicate that you may be heavily dosed right now.
Please be careful, and as with ANYTHING, be responsible and moderate your use!

Barely feeling a buzz on 8mgs is a pretty hefty tolerance. Maybe it would be best to start tapering them off like ados said.

And yet you don't think you're to the point where you'd get serious withdrawals? Remember a daily dose of 2-4 mg can cause addiction over the course of several months. If you're to the point where you don't even a bar (or a few bars), that sounds ike an issue of concern.

Hmm I've heard about how benzo addiction can get real nasty or just as worse as opiate addiction. But I was prescribed to them for a while & took them a lot, and when I wanted to stop taking them I just stopped taking them. No second-thoughts.
They're no good IMO & I hate the head space it puts you in. Zombified. The only thing I think they're really good for is a bad trip abort. Works great.
But anyways see a doctor if you're going to try and stop, no doubt. If you're that badly addicted to something I would seek professional help pretty much no matter what it was, if the addiction was truely that bad.
