I love the flora nova series
    #330477 - 12/12/09 08:08 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

And this is why.

My tapwater has a Ph of 7.0-7.2 out of the tap, add in 1 tsp of Flora Nova Bloom and it's down to 5.9-6.1.  Perfectly balanced solution with no hassle, plants love the food, and it's a 1 part system so technically I could get away with using this and nothing else for my flowering period.  Makes me regret picking up that bottle of Ph Down, but I look at it as a back up just in case.

The final test will be the smoke test once the buds are done, but so far this line has won me over.  It is a bit pricey, but considering you only need to buy one bottle instead of two or three, it evens out. If you're in the market for an easy to use nutrient line, this may be the solution for you (if you grow hydro).

I know a few others here are using this nutrient line as well, I'm super excited to see the final result

the price is a bit steep but it's well worth it for the results themselves, let alone the cost savings on ph down.  i saw a before and after picture that were taken like a week apart on ICmag and the difference was phenomenal.  I can't recall the juices he was using prior to adding the FN.  sooo simple to use.  even this idiot can use it correctly.  My only problem with it was cleaning my res every week.  toward the end of flowering on my first grow i left the res for longer than normal and had to deal with this....

hehe, well, I grow hempy style now so I don't have a rez like that.  I may have to rinse out the bottom of my buckets though.  The stuff is pretty thick, looks like liquid shit.  I could only imagine what it's like to mix up a huge batch of solution.  It's pretty easy in a gallon milk jug, but you still have to shake pretty hard initially to dissolve it.

When I was doing DWC I had a 50 gallon reservoir, so I was in need of quite a bit of FN.  I was getting these big 2.5 gallon containers of it.  It's such a pain in the ass to mix up that they just give you a tool that attaches to your drill that is kind of a long paddle/spiral thingy to stick in it and get it all mixed up.  It would have been a bitch to have to shake that shit up by hand every time.

yah, I could only imagine.  Thankfully I don't need anything that big.  My problem comes in if I want to expand my plant count, or up my container size.  In my current containers it takes 1 gallon to feed three plants.  So that's two gallons of water every third day.  Filling individual gallon jugs is semi time consuming, but it is what it is and it definitely works for me

i use flora nova now too...normally use the gh 3 part. I cant stand how it always has lil sediment pieces in it...really fucks with my drip system sometimes. Also a bitch to shake up everytime i make nutes...haha.
I'll prob test out canna coco and see how i do with it next....but prob get back to 3 part cuz i had good results with it.
Also when i mix the FloraNova my nutes are at 4.9ph....u lucky sob.
Nothing negative to say about the results though....grows plants well.

I just started using FloraNova Bloom the other day.  I was using Botanicare before.  Much easier to mix and your right about the pH.  My tap is 6.8 and I didn't have to add any pH up or down.  My pH has been stable at 5.8.  With Botanicare I had to add pH down every day.

Is anyone using any additives?  I am using Sweet this week, but have some KoolBloom liquid on order and will be using that when I change the reservoir this week.

My plan is as follows

1.) Floranova Bloom only for the first 3-4 weeks
2.) Floranova Bloom + sweet/carboload/sugar supplement after third or fourth week
3.) Possibly add in some snow storm ultra at around the 5th week (haven't decided
4.)Then in the last three weeks I'll add in some gravity for two weeks, and finally plain water in the last week to flush the plants out.

I don't think I'd need any more then that.

Been using the Flora Nova line for a while now. I'm not gonna be switching anytime soon.

I kinda feel the same way, but you guys have a LOT more experience growing and using other nutrients than I do.  So i guess hearing you both say that makes me feel better about not experimenting with other main nutrient sources.
