first time growing, when i transplanted my plant i got the dirt chunk off the roots not all of it but most i put it into the new soil... the plant just fell to the side so i had to put dirt next to the stem to keep it upright.... i also touched the roots with my bare hands although they were dirty from soil... will my plant be ok??? i watered it right after the transplant

just stand back and doont try to do too much to it. the roots should begin to take over the new medium.

Did you say that you shook the dirt off the roots? PLEASE tell me this isn't true!!!
That's waaaay bad!!! To transplant, let the dirt in the pot dry out so that it will stay solid. Then all you have to do is tip it upside down and it comes right out. Even better, cut the growing pot right down the sides(when it's dry!) and set it in the new pot(Half full of loose soil_), and peel away the old container.
man, say it isn't so! The Green Goddess is going to be very pissed at your noob-ass if it is!

well if it's wilting it definitely isn't perfect looking. watering daily is far too much for soil, you want a chance for the root ball to dry out so the plant has to go looking for water. that's what stimulates root exploration

im using soil plus aerogarden
This makes no sense to me, how can you be using an aero system and a soil medium? Or do you mean you're just using the lights the come with the aerogarden setup?

Keep your light schedule the same. Don't over water, your plant is already stressed enough as it is.
My guess is that it wont recover, but it is possible that it could bounce back. It will be a long slow road though if it does.

I think you'll have better luck just starting over. IF they recover, it will still take a loooong time for it to finish, and the result will not be what it could have been. Plants just do so much better when they have a stress free life, like everything else.

By the looks of it could survive. It's definitely shocked though.
Next time don't break up the root ball just plant it in the new soil. You could have easily killed your plant doing this.

You fucked up bad.
I loosen my rootball, but I let it dry mostly before doing so. No dirt falls off in my case.
Not saying it hasn't happened but I do NOT let it happen anymore.
Your plant will be fine, although it will take at least a week and a half or two weeks to fully recover from the shock you just put it through. You basically stabbed it in the abdomen... lol It will probably not "look" any better for at least a few days to a week. Never fear though, I've dug up 1-2 ft tall little bushes from the ground before (Had to...) and they wilted and looked like they would die, but after a week started showing signs of new growth. Just be patient and do some damn reading.
Why not start more? Is that your only plant? I would never grow just 1 plant again... you fall in love with it over the course of a month and then BAM total waste of time...
Please don't tell me you are one of the "wheres the buds on my male?" type of guys!?
