Fj's Outdoor Log...ppp,speedqueen,earlyqueen.

The IntroductionToday I germinated 20 early queen (Mr. Nice), 10 speed queen (Mandala) and 5 ppp beans. Seeds came from the boutique. The 5 ppp were freebies. I had planned on trying a few different germing techniques, but after further reflection I decided to keep it simple for this run.(paper towel method) This is going to be my first grow with decent genetics. I think it would be smarter to run some tests with bagseed, but that will be done another time. So this will be an outdoor grow. Moms will be carefully selected and cloning will begin in the early spring. Yes I know it is a bit early...but my grow-partner is very eager to begin, and since he is providing the room to grow in and paying the electricity bill...i saw no reason to argue the early start . I selected speed queen and early queen so I/we could get an early harvest. I live in Maine and the grow season is a bit short here. I believe our first frost arrived within the first week of October this year. We will not be cloning the ppp. The freebie pack had 5 in it, so i am hoping for at least 2 females. I am going to grow them in 5 gallon buckets. I will get one and my friend will get the other.(assuming there will be 2) He is very skeptical of lst or hst training or any training for that matter. We will be bringing the plants inside to flower.(it will be very interesting to see mine/his side by side.) I will be keeping an eye on the daylight hours so i can give them as much outdoor veg as possible. I am interested to see how this goes. I will probably be flowering with a 400 watt hps setup for them..but that will be discussed at a more appropriate time. My friend and I will not be growing in the same outdoor locations. So I will be documenting the progress indoors and then just my selection of clones throughout the outdoor grow season. Once the beans pop they will go under two 32 watt t8's. When they are strong enough to handle a little heat they will get a 4 bulb HO t5 set up which will be purchased at the local dro shop. I will be using pro mix when they are seedlings and when they are ready they will be transplanted into Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. I am currently unsure of what I will be using for nutrients. It will be as organic as possible I can assure you all of that. It's just my personal preference Photos will be coming soon. It may take a while as I have very little knowledge of computers. Well that's it for the intro, questions..comments..critisism is greatly appreciated. Anything that can help me look at things from a different prospective! [image]/forums /thumbs/g10-008/719994582-thumb _100_0074.jpg[/image] [url=https://files.growery.org/files/g10-21/475840897-564.jpg] [/url
lil pictorial update as to where things are with the grow. We just selected our clones. I ended up with 8 mandala,6 chrystal,1 ppp....and i think that's it. Pics of those to come when they go in the ground next week. photos are kinda fucked up..but that's what you get when my ignorant ass trys to use a computer...

hope you don't think i was challenging you. i was interested to see the difference since i will be taking them inside to flower rather than completing the process outside. I will dig up a grow log here that has the strain in it.
and.........HOLY SANTA CLAUSE SHIT!!!....that is quite a selection you got there!

quick update... all 5 ppp, 8 SQ and 12 EQ have germed and I planted them last night. We had to rush and finish building the grow room but it turned out quite well.
As my luck would have it the fucking screen in my laptop shit the bed yesterday. So photos will be at a standstill as of right now. As soon as i can figure out how to upload photos from my cell I will post'em.
I am eager to see what some of you vets have to say about the construction of the grow room. That's all for now. Hopefully pics in less than a week..that's my goal. FJ

Those pics are almost 3 months old. So things are a lot further along now. I will get the rest up tomorrow.
3 out of 5 of the ppp were female. I can't wait to see how they turn out. The ppp's germed within 2 days and grew the "fastest" and showed sex first as well. They have had no setbacks so far and I'd say out of the group I am most impressed with ppp's performance.
Tomorrow I should have more pics up of the grow room, I am interested to hear your thoughts on it.

yeah i would say so. the light was lifted so i could take a pic, but was at an angle so the ppp would fit. the ppp seemed to stretch the most and they were on the left hand side. the guy i grow with seems to feel that plants don't stretch when the light is further away... He is old and set in his ways, but I am slowly convincing him of the things i have learned here at the growery. It's gonna take a while. I kinda have to go with the flow since the grow is at his house and he pays the electricity.....it is what it is I suppose...
We haven't flowered and don't plan to indoors (except the ppp). We just cut clones a few days ago actually. The ppp will be veg'd outside and then brought inside in august to induce flower. The others will be finished outside this fall.

Here's how things look as of yesterday. I aplologize for the less than stellar photos...I'm still learnin how to use this cheap ass camera
The plants in the small green pots are Mandala's, those are the only ones out of the bunch that recieved any sort of training. The 2 plants in the red containers are chrystal and the 2 black containers are ppp. The blue containers are Mr. Nice's Early queen.
We cut 40 clones the other day and put them in rockwool. Using a humidity dome with hydrated perlite. Now it's the waiting game. First time cloner here...so time will tell!

couple photos here. only took pics of 3 diff plants. As of now I'm down to 8 plants. 1 got eaten...and and 6 got ripped!!! I walked out to water one of my plots last week and came across a four wheeler trail. It didn't alarm me at first until I followed it for a bit....and then i realized that it was bringing me strait to my plot. I could tell they drove through once and then came back. The plants weren't just ripped out...they were dug out. I followed the tracks through the woods until it connected to a four wheelin trail. The trails go on for miles and miles...so i just turned around. I guess it's good that i have plants elsewhere ...still sucks though. The bastard who ripped'em had quite a stroke of luck.... when i followed the trail out it was obvious that he was just dubbin round the woods going in no specific direction and just stumbled upon my plot.... .....shit happens i guess. I'm done bitching...here's a few pics...the dark greenn bushier plant is speed queen and the taller lighter colored one is chrystal.

Luckily I've got 5 more in a plot across town. I'll be takin a hike out there sometime this week and hopefully have some photos to upload. I've haven't fed them much...the ones in the photo's recieve the most attention. They've had a few feedings of molasses/seabird guano teas and a lil bit of ff grow big.

Lol. That's one way to look at it. I just can't wait to get an indoor grow going. There's waaaaay too many variables to worry about outdoors.

Agreed. If it were legal my backyard would be full of plants. We'll see it in our lifetime I believe....maybe not in every state though.
Finding good spots is hard these days, at least in my case.....but watering's my main complaint. The creek that runs by my plot that got ripped completely dried up. 3 weeks ago it was flowing strong. Now nothin. If my plants didn't get ripped i'd be havin to haul 5+ gallons of water into the woods. But i'd much rather be bitchin about haulin water than having some plants jacked.
Looks like things might be legal out in cali soon enough though...maybe I'll relocate after they vote in nov...lol
