Here we go again! I just hope that the Green Goddess doesn't ask for any more sacrifices! I'm starting with: (2) Feminized, Burmese/OG Kush *TH Seeds* (Dr. Chronic Rocks!!!)
My end goals are: (1) Soil based Mother, with(Drip or DWC)based clones. (1) To Flower.
11/28/2009_Germination: They broke shell in less than 30 hours, using a paper towel tek. The place, this time was different though. I used Kleenex tissues this time. one piece for the beans, and one underneath that for water reserve. These were placed on a 5" styro plate and folded 1/3rd of the plate to hold them in place vertically, fastened with paper clips. I put them in a ziploc bag, kept it open an inch for air. I put the whole thing sideways, between my cpu tower and my warmed, standing books! This kept them at a steady warm temp, out of light, and next to a fan vent on the cpu. I think this made them sprout sooner than they usually would. I did NOT scarify OR soak them. I'm pretty stoked with the fast growth.
11/30/09_ Planted them into: -sm. Plastic Cups(w/drains) -Converted Veg Closet -7'x4'x2' -Soil Medium: -MG/peat/Perlite -Lights: -(2) 75w cfl's 6500K -(24 hour) Light Regiment -Air: -(1) desk fan (Intake/Stem Agitation) -(1) cpu fan (Exhaust)
12/1/2009_ The beans broke soil this morning and held fast at 2.5" by the end of the day.
12/8/2009_ So the kids have been transplanted out of the little cups, and are resting in 8" pots now. Their new home in the basement is almost finished. Mostly their grow box just needs some walls, and a couple more lights woould be cool. Pictures coming as soon as there's something to see.
I designed a DWC that uses a 20 gallon Igloo cooler for flowering the clones. I hope it works right. I'm planning on using clay pellets either in the net cups or in the entire tank. I think that I can put a grate under the pellets, leaving the airstone 5" of water underneath the grate, if I am to fill it completely.
So I moved the two kids into some 8" pots to give them more room to root. The soil mix is diff than last batch though. i ran out of soil for their final mother home and used 1/5th steirophome, 1 part manure, 1 part humus/peat, 1 part perlite, and 1 part mg soil. All in a 20 gallon tupperware(the moms are going to share a home) I'm using this mix for the 6"ers as of now, and the kids seem to be doing ok, and the ph was at about 7.
I just read about the bud on' a stick flowering. Skipping the whole veg time and going straight to flower seems very reasonable, and looks very promising, too. I'm still working on an hps 430w for that part.
I hate to say it...but the small kids were sold into slavery to another grower. Besides, the good Dr. Chronic sent some much better babies since then. 2 W. Rhino, 2 Hawaiin Snow, 2 Big Bangs, 2 Lemon Skunk, 2 Super Silver Haze, via Greenhouse Seed Co. I'm rooting for these Feminized beans because GH doesn't stress the plants to produce fems, unlike TH Seeds. What I've read is that Arjan was able to completely REMOVE the male chromosome of the GH plants. NO HERMIES! Besides, there are 3 other Burmese kids in the wait, any how. Check them out on youtube, they have LOT'S of great growing videos about ALL of these different strains. I swear it's better than porn...maybe!
