Oh and BTW do you leave the paper towel open like that or did you fold it over the seeds... I sometimes get rot after they crack because it gets too moist...

I'm biased too b/c I plant my seeds directly into rapid rooters. I give them a soak overnight, then plant them. I do this b/c of Mandala mike's (and others) idea that once the root has emerged, their is a microstructure of very fine roots that are damaged when handled. Obviously, you can still be successful the other way; I think 80% of growers use the paper towel method to germ.

I leave the paper towel on for 3 days then remove. The plate sets in a jeffy hut from wal mart. Never had rot.
I let all the seeds get started before planting.

NO my temps range fro 75 to 90. Most of the a/c hangs out in the cooler weather. So the inside heat builds up. Been keeping the door open at nights to help . Thinking about putting in an intake vent for fresh air this next weekend. With a Stanly fan of course.

I've also waited for the cotyledon to show before planting the seedlings. Works well as long as you keep them moist there shouldn't be a problem.

Over all
The Plants
The Clones Some of the clones are not going to make it. There's more were those came from. Maybe I need to build a dome for them?

Day 30, Week 4
The Plants
Think it time for nutes.
The Clones, while not impressive, they are alive and growing.
Started this clone 11-14-09 The smaller the cut ,the better they seem to do. Also keeping temp below 80f

aye lookin like some good stuff kapn, and yeah, larger clones, in my head just thinking it thru, the root system it would need you want as small as you can get so it can get a root system goign that can support itself quickly. i had one i was keeping under a dome, and it was working for a bit but i donno if it got too oxegen deprived or what i kept spraying it multiple times daily givng it fresh air when i did, but it eventually just dried up, still green none the less. was odd.

Day 37 Week 5
The Plants
The Clones
Will transplant the plants today into larger pots. I feel the nutes have been depleted. Have not yet found any pH strips and do not want to have a pH problem.

Day 44 week6
The Purple #1 has recovered nicely with the transplant. Will let it keep growing for clones.
Have all 8 clones under 12/12 for 2 days. Can't wait to know which ones are female. Will take pollen for some seed down the way.
The clones in the center are from the Purple #1 , had to trim the plants to keep them even.
I really like using that Jiffy greenhouse, have been getting a better clone success rate with it.
The elevated seedlings on the right are AK47 x Diesel auto flowers. Have more germinating. The males will be cut as soon as seen. I need some good bud to smoke.
Looks like I got to wait 2 or 3 week to know male from female.
So I wait and the plants grow.
Sorry for the deleted pic's. I ran out of space. Need to get a supporter account. After the remodel.

Day 51 Week 7
The grow Can't belive how tall the plants are getting under the T5HO
The clones
10 days into 12/12 Waiting for sex to show. Hope there is more than one female.
Sorry worng pic, see next post.
Roots are also coming out of the peat pods. 8days.The clones in the water cups are 10 days and no roots but the clones still look very heathly.
This setting around waiting is a bummer. Think I'll smoke a bowl.
