3000 watt grow-Updated 5-19-10

So I'm growing out a few different unknown strains. 4 clones from an unknown mother, and germinating 5 seeds of unknown varieties. Medium is Ocean Forest soil by Foxfarm. Nutrient line is undecided at this point, but it will probably be biobizz or foxfarm.
The grow is taking place in the basement. I have wired in two outlets which are rated to handle 20 amps each. The basement has been divided into 2 parts by by a tarp that has been hung up the width of the room, and has 2 separate layers. The inner layer, layer closest to the lights, has been painted white on the inside and black on the other. Outer layer has no paint. I will be separating the inside growing area into 2 partitions as well, to cut down on the amount of space that I need to fill with co2.
This will be grown under 3000 watts of light, on a light mover on a 9' track. Lights are vented with outside air. A co2 producer will be used in this grow. Ballasts are by SunSystem, 2 switchable and 1 HPS only. Bulbs are EYE hortilux.
11/18: Seeds were soaked in a shot glass for 16 hours then placed in pots with soil and placed under 2 4' flouros.
11/20: 4 Clones cut and dipped in rooting gel and placed in rockwool cubes that have been soaked in pH balanced h20. Then placed in a humidity dome at 80 degrees Fahrenheit under 4' flouros.
One of the seeds has popped up here's some pics.
11-21-09 : 4 out of 5 seeds appear to be germinating at this point, although one of them doesn't look so hot at this point.
The plan with any seeds that end up being female will be to get them large enough to clone off of and then turn into mothers.
11-25-09
Only 2 seeds came to seedling stage. Bummer?? Sure, but better than having none survive. They are now under a 1000 watt hortilux blue. Ambient air temps are staying at a constant 77. Leaf temps at 73, not shabby. Added Oregonism XXL to the feeding regimen. This is a mycorrhizal supplement to promote healthy root systems.
Clones are still in humidity dome, not much to see there so all you get are a couple of pics of the seedlings.
Seedlings next to some sage, purple basil, and sweet basil.
Seedling #1- This one was the first to germinate. Doing well, the second set of true leaves are starting to come out!
Seedling #2- For some reason this pic isn't loading in the proper direction. The other seedling to make it, for some reason it only had 1 cotyledon. Not sure why, but it seems to be doing all right anyways.
11-30-09
UPDATE: Two of the four clones have roots popping out!! I feel the other two will have some soon as well. Here's a pic.
The seedlings are doing pretty decent at this point. They are under 1 1000 watt MH for now. A little bit of leaf curling on one of the plants, I think it's due to low humidity. It's been in the 30% range, I'll be getting a humidifier as soon as possible but it may take a couple of weeks. Here's pics.
I'm thinking about adding just a smidgen of grow formula next week depending on how they're progressing. I decided to go with Bio-Bizz. I wasn't aware it had such a high potassium though. Also I've read that it's lacking in calcium and magnesium, so may add some cal-mag to the mix later on. I'll also be introducing an additive like Liquid Karma or something similar.
12-05-09
Switched my bulb out to a sunmaster cool deluxe. It's supposed to have comparable a spectrum to the Hortilux and was a lot cheaper.
About 4 days ago, Tuesday the 1st to be exact, I transplanted the seedlings as well as my now rooted clones.
Seedlings are showing signs of being VERY Indica at this point. They were put into 2 gal pots and watered with oregonism and bio-bizz grow at .6ml a gallon of water, pH was right at 6. I'm still getting some leaf curling, I'm sure this is because of the lack of humidity. I'll get a humidifier eventually. The 3 clones were put into what I had, 2 milk just with the top cut off and painted black, and then a pot from a plant I bought earlier this year, it's probably about 1 gallon.
Here's some pics.
Update 12-15-09
So were into 4 total weeks of growth at this point. They're still under 1000 watts of HID. I'll probably be keeping it under the single one for awhile.
I'm getting a little bit a inter-veinal ridging on the two that were grown from seed. The stems on these two plants are very purple as well. Very bushy though with very thick stems. I'm quite happy with the way their turning out. Let's cross our fingers for females.
Clones are doing okay, bit of drooping today after their watering. I think they may need a little bump in nutes. Right now all plants are at 1.5ml's of grow, 1ml or roots trinity(basically seaweed extract plus some), and some oregonism(which is like a sub-culture+). Balanced out to a pH of 6.3.
Update 1-04-2010
Well it's been a couple of weeks so I figure it's time to show you guys how these plants are doing. One of the plants germed from seed turned male and I chopped him down. The other female thankfully.
I tested out a new P nute additive to try and correct the purple stems I was getting with Plant A. Thought I started out with a pretty small amount, 1.5 ml per gallon, and well ended up frying them a little. Flushed all the plants with plenty of low nutrient solution and they seem to be bouncing back just fine. All in all I'm pretty happy with the way they are progressing at this point. I decided to add Silica Blast to the nutrient schedule as well.
Also, a friend of mine hooked me up with some more clones of a different strain. He called it Willie NelsonxGrapefruit. But you know how that is. At this point I'm just calling them Willie and leaving it at that. Of course once I get these babies back to my house I see that they have mites. Sprayed them down with NEEM and Penetrator. Sprayed the rest of my plants down too as a pre-emptive strike. No way I'm going to let these fuckers even a sliver of a chance to spread.
Here's some pics.
Update 1-14-10
Not a whole lot to see but some more pics, Were turning these all into mothers and are going to be taking clones in the next few weeks. Plants are looking pretty good besides a little bit of nute burn from a few weeks ago. Recovering nicely at this point. I should be aquiring some new strains from a local club here in the next few weeks and will keep you updated.
Willie
What I'm calling Black Berry Kush, what it is to the best of my knowledge.
And Random Clone
Update 2-28-2010
So it's been awhile since I have updated you guys. I just took 40 some odd clones 2 weeks ago. I'll be picking 16 of the most prolific rooters from that 40 some odd for my plants to be grown out. The clones will be moved to dirt tomorrow, and then transplanted into 35 gallon containers. 2 plants per container.
I still don't have all 3 lights up right now. But the 3rd will go up soon, and will be doing some improvements in the next few days and will update you guys with that next weekend. For now here's some pictures of the room I'm growing in, messy I know, as well as the mothers and clones that I just took.
Mother Fucking Update 4-6-10
So I guess it's about time for a little bit of an update. Plants are getting pretty big now, maybe a little too big as I have yet to transplant into their final containers. This will happen in the next week though. As well as the third light going up.
I acquired and installed a new toy over the weekend.
And 8" vortex inline fan, pulling 747 CFM through a carbon filter. This is solely recirculating air in the room to keep smell down. Which was beginning to be an issue while in the vegetative stage. It's going to be ridiculous during flowering. But for now the addition has done the trick.
Here's a few pics of the plants right now. I'll post some pics after I transplant later this week.
Update 4-24-10
Transplanted, 3rd light up, and went to 12/12 today!! So they're on Floranova, Oregonism, Liquid Karma, Silica Blast, Root Xcelerator (after transplants). They will soon be put on Sweet and Budswel. I will also supplement with kool bloom or pk 13/14.
Pics
Updatesky 5-19-10
Going well so far, about 3 weeks into flowering. A little iron def. noted in one strain, only on the most outside branches, treating with foliar feedings of Cal/Mag+.
Eye Candy!!

I kind of want to see what 3000W of light looks like. Even if it scalds my retina's through the screen.

also man just a quick tip, you're gonna want to put some plastic down on that floor, or even better just tear up the carpet. I've never had a grow in my life where I didn't have to mop the floor at some point to clean up some spilled nutrients or something, I don't want to see you ruin that nice carpet with a big 'ol brown stain. not to mention the potential for mold

Yeah, this is in my basement. I couldn't believe that they put carpet down there. I'm thinking about ripping it out or laying down a tarp. I'll probably just end up ripping it out.

Or just be careful. I grew on carpet twice and never had a problem. I never spilled anything or had any issues. hydroponics ftw! Awesome grow, i'll toggle this fo sho! Also, if you edit the subject of your first post you can put today's update date on there. im sure the 3,000w line will entice a lot of people. We don't have many high watt grows around here.

Well, right now they're only under 1000 watts. I'm waiting to see if these seeds are going to give some a female plant. I'll also be obtaining some more clones of another strain soon, pics of that will follow.
Number of plants has yet to be decided, probably somewhere around 12, that will be up in the air for a bit yet.
The room is very large, I'll put some pics of it up in the next day or so.
Also, I will be doing a MAJOR upgrade after this grow.
