wondering about finally buying some seed from a bank. I was thinking of spending about $100... I want 2 or 3 different strains. kush, blueberry, and white widow. my plans are to start 5 of each strain, find a couple good mothers, then flower the males of each strain in a different room, collect the pollen and do crosses of each strain in hopes of collecting a couple hundred seeds of each cross. how does this sound?
veg: 200w cfl 4 weeks flower 400w hps 10-12 weeks soil: fox farms ocean floor nutes: BC starter kit odor control: none?

If you're looking for the REAL blueberry, black widow or Kush, you're gonna spend that hundred bucks on just one pack of one of those strains. If you want them all, you'll have to increase your budget, or go with a lower quality version of the strains. Also, if you can find a cheap MH on craigslist (I got a 400W ballast, hood, reflector, and bulb for $100!) You'll get significantly better yields than if you veg under the CFL's the whole time (although CFL's are great for starting the seeds).

those dj shorts look awesome. i was thinking of going with Sensi seeds but only buy 5 of each strain to keep the cost around $100-150, I hear Sensi is the best. Can you tell me anything about the quality of Nirvana seeds?

I hate to hijack your thread but this kind of applies. Anyone know what the difference is between DJ S's blueberry and true blueberry? I mean aside from the blurbs provided on the page you linked ren. I would assume that the true bb is the original one.

True BB is a significantly more Sativa leaning plant and the original, Blueberry is the indica that people generally associate with the name blueberry. If you tell someone they are about to smoke blueberry, and you give them TBB, they will think you don't know what the fuck you're talking about because the status quo is the indica bB.
Nirvana seeds are kind of like the economy option of seeds, good plants, decent genetics, and just like flying economy, no bells and whistles, but it'll get you where you want to go. There was a discussion on here about Sensi seeds very recently, and I think the concensus was: not worth the price...if you're gonna drop that kind of money, go with DJ, Mr. Nice, or even Soma Seeds.

So the nirvana white widow ain't worth the money?.....I though if it's half as strong and thc covered as they say I would be satisfied for the $50 they charge for 10 seeds. Big bud also seems like it would be worth the money even if the bud isn't extremely potent, the weight factor alone from 1 plant justifies $50 also I have no experience with crossing strains are there any major issues I should know about before attempting?
edit: also I don't need the worlds finest quailty marijuana just a nice stash of really dank bud to enjoy myself.....I won't be entering any competitions or anything.

Oh I'm not saying its not worth it; of the "discount" seed companies, I think Nirvana is the best. The thing you're buying from Nirvana is a plant NAME, not the genetics that the name originally embodied. If you want quality genetics at a value price though, I still recommend either ACE seeds or Mandala seeds. They have great vigor, great germ rates, landrace genetics, and yummy buds. With those two, you get great quality, the only thing you don't get is name recognition, which, for a personal stash, shouldn't be a bad thing.
