Undoubtedly, he was an awesome person. In fact he's one of my biggest heroes. And I too would love to have smoked with him and shoot the shit about society.

Krakauer has another great one called Into Thin Air that details his Everest expedition.
I personally think its an even better read, if not as compelling as Into The Wild.
