Hmm I'm pretty sure butane dissolves the THC rather than stripping it. I'm fairly sure all of them act as solvents really. I'd choose hexane and then butane because they both evaporate very cleanly but hexane if I remember correctly also gets more actives than any other solvent. That's what I learned in DMT extraction anyways.
Though for best taste and terpene preservation water extraction is tops.

I have done this to $25 ounces of shake. Pretty shitty starting material. Used Iso, maybe 95%. The stuff you get is hard to handle and smoke but gets you pretty high. tasted bad though, and was impossible to clean off the bong.

yea i just ranted about iso. IT JUST ISN'T PURE ENOUGH FOR ME.

And with butane/hexane its orange or yellow or redish usually
