if you train them by tying, you should be able to get the screen on fairly easy after a week. but it would be essentially the same as tying at that point. next round start tying them earlier and you can get those scrog results your looking for...

Well this was mainly a test run, as quickly as possible to get myself some stash, because w/out a job it really sucks trying to get high each day.
It's also my first "flowered" indoor grow in 9 years of growing. I used to veg indoors, flower out, but this time is different as this is the real beginning of my journey in my opinion.
Next attempt, which has already germinated, will be vegetated for longer, as well as training from the start. I'm going for maximum yields next go round, but didn't care too much about it this run. Just mainly seeing how some of my strains turn out and how easy they are to cultivate indoors.
I wouldn't have put 2 haze females in my grow if I was going for yield this run

Can anyone help me guestimate how large the bushier plants might get? I mean they were vegged for 24 days, and have about 8-10 nodes, with the largest branches about 4 inches long with 3 nodes each. I've never grown this far into the flowering cycle indoors before so I don't have a clue how much they might stretch before they settle into bud production. I'd have to imagine that they flower faster indoors due to constant variables and maximum hours of light.
Can anyone help me guess how large they will get? I'm just getting flustered trying to imagine how branchy they will get, I always forget do the branches keep growing during the first half of flowering or do they stay relatively the same size that they were at the end of Veg???
Please anyone comment on this. I'm hoping to spark up a conversation on the subject!!!

Are you gonna tie em down to the floor?
I'd screw little eyeletes into the walls of your box on each side, about half the height of the plant, tie a loop of fishing line round a sturdy place toward the top of you plant and you can bend it over a series of days and tie the fishing line to the eyelets as needed.
Then you'll get more product out the haze since you only get light on the top 2/3's of a plant growing indoor anyway.
Looking really good man.

If I was to guestimate I'd say they will double to trible their size, branches too in most strains.
But keep in mind that some strains may go as much as four times their size.

Ugh I know. Even though it's 2 weeks in to flower, I really think I have to at least bend those Sativas over to maximize this grow.
I always get myself frustrated trying to visualize where this grow will end up, because I really don't want to go through all this trouble and then end up yielding 2 oz's from 5 plants... I really hope I can at least get 125 grams out of 5 plants. 25g/plant isn't too crazy of a goal is it?

Yes you should tie down the sativas in that room.
25g a plant isn't hard to get at all.

I have had that same problem numerous times so this next time I hopefully will maximize my space by switching lights over a week or two before, so tieing down will not be necessary. Good luck lookin good inverted. keep it up.

Not, it's too late into flowering to start weaving them through a screen.
Could cause too much stress and stunt their growth, and I definitely don't want to chance a hermaphrodite. I am however slowly tying down those sativa bastard children, but not anything too serious that could cause stress.
I'm basically going to work them so gently that they don't even notice that they've been adjusted.
Here's a non-HPS shot. The indica's are slower to flower for some reason!? They were 3-4 days younger than the tall ones, but they were slightly stunted from being rootbound I think?
Would that slow down the initiation to flowering if I transplanted a couple days after making the flip?
They just now seem like they made the switch to flowering, whereas the older ones had preflowers when I switched them which is why I think they are taking off. Either way I'm not concerned and they are doing just great. A little heat stress on the top leaves of the Haze, but they will be fixed very soon. All in all i'm very pleased right now, and the smell is getting pretty strong.

Ooh! Thanks for the new pic, looking good. I'm excited to see your results with bending them gently. Always a good idea in situations similar to yours. Sometimes they just don't wanna stop stretching!

Wellll some more news.
I finished tying down the tallest 3 females with good success. The stems weren't too stiff and no cracks or collapses occurred. So that's good.
Also I have 3 Master x Hindu Kush, and 4 more Chrystal seeds fully germinated and above soil. Putting them in the veg box today, as well as transferring some of the CFL's to the flowering box to help out the HPS a little bit. I'm going to train and veg the hell out of those Kush, and I'm probably going to put the additional Chrystal into flower after the first gaps open up.
Eventually I want to get it set up and timed perfectly so that as soon as one harvest comes out, the other vegged plants will go right in, so no time is wasted.

Ok sooooo,
Here's a picture of my left hand, normal and healthy, and my broken hand. It's quite obvious... I need to control my temper.
Anyways I know it's definitely not time for an update, but since the grow has changed I might as well.
So I put (2) 42w 2700k and (2) 30w 3000k CFL's in with the HPS (~300watts total) since my Veg box only needs 60w right now to get my seedlings going. I hope this helps. I can't really see any way it would harm them, because heat is perfectly within check at 72 degrees.
I tied down the 3 stretchy phenos and they have already made the turn for the light. I'm happy with the results already, looking a lot more clean and respectable when the canopy is reasonably even.
I'm pretty happy at this point with how it's going, although I could have trained them better in veg, and should have transplanted earlier as I can tell it stunted them. Well here's something to look at, I know that's what most people care about anyways...

Look at how flat my left hand is, then look at the massive bump on my right hand, that's the one I broke last night. You really can't tell? Its huge!
Yes they are putting on buds quickly, I love to see that! I'm getting excited.

I'm far too impatient of a person to keep the updates to a full 7 days.
Day 21 Flowering. The end of the 3rd week already... My sativas are flowering at a much quicker rate, but I also transplanted them a week before switching to flowering, whereas with the others were transplanted at the start of flowering which stunted the 2 most indicas and they just now have a good enough root mass to sustain quick flowering growth. In the last 3 days they have all started to speed up which is nice to see. Even the Haze is packing on the calyx's like nobody's business.
What do you guys think so far? Get the HPS closer? It's 5-6 inches from the plants.
Here's my 2 favorite Chrystal plants. Notice the Ind Sat differences...

Looking good! Yours are a week ahead of mine. I have my 400w within 6 inches of the tops of my plants and it's not causing any harm. You might be able to move it a little closer, just keep an eye on them if you do.

Thanks for the advice. I have mad air movement in the box so I'll lower it tomorrow. I can't wait for them to take off. I've never flowered bud indoors as I've said, only vegged and they look so much different than outdoor! Many many more calyx's per leaf. Almost no leaves on that cola!
